Say hello to Michela.. We've been trying to sort a shoot out between us for donkeys... After a couple of attempts we finally got a date that suited us all and we headed upto my mate Emry's studio - Room3 Studio in Grimsby... I shoot a lot here, the place really is the bollocks (that's good btw)
I just love Michela's look, its soo strong, soo unique and her personality is absolutely top drawer!!! Good at posing and understands her own body, which is always a good thing, saves me from directing her..
So, the initial plan was always to shoot some lingerie and boudoir, so of course we did that - its one of my favorite genre's...
The Fractal filters always seem to find their way in front of the glass....
One place I've always wanted to shoot while I've been up at Emry's place is on the docks.. I've never managed to do it, whether it be time constraints, poor weather or security stopping us.... But not today!! Not today brothers and sister.... Today we shot on the docks...
Lets get one thing straight before we continue.. The docks are not as nice as these images show.... you can blame shooting at f1.8 for that!
The place stinks of fish, there's fish guts / bones / heads everywhere... and where there's fish, there's gulls... big gulls that shit everywhere.... So we tried to keep away from lamp posts and anything that gave them a perch..
Despite it being a fantastically bright and sunny day, I still used a bit of flash for fill in the daylight, I had Michela facing away from the sun to avoid any squinting of the eyes.. Using an AD200 (they're just brilliant lights imo), it gave me just enough to fill the shadows while giving me the option to get a bit creative when out of the direct sunlight.
As always, I'd love your thoughts and CC.....
