HELLO, SPLINTERLANDS COMMUNITY! ITS TIME FOR THE NEW CARD FEATURE.
Every week, one card will be featured on my blog. Their power, abilities, and the possible strategies to use with them will be evaluated. The way of choosing a card to be featured is random, but mostly, it will be based on the card that caught my attention. For this week, NERISSA TRIDAWN is in the spotlight. I never tried to use this monster but it catches my attention as it is the card feature for this week's battle feature. Interesting, right? So what are we waiting for? Let's start the card feature!
THE LORE
Nerissa is a proud warrior of the water. Armed with her enchanted trident, she defends the seas, the rivers, and the lakes. She is well known across coastal villages, and they often call on her for help. She has slain great sea beasts that would otherwise kill everyone in their path. She has rescued sailors from hurricanes, and even warned villages of incoming tsunamis to save lives. Her bravery and brilliance in battle have led to her being called Nerissa the Hurricane.
Nerissa was born and raised by the ocean, and could swim before she could walk. She always felt the sea called to her. And within her it stirred a deep magic. An ancient mana of tides and waves. Nerissa answered the call, and travels between the continents of the Splinterlands.
When settlers and explorers made their way to Praetoria, Nerissa was there to help with every step of the journey. But the blight that gripped the land worried her deeply. Its corruption spread into the waters that she loved so dearly. She often caught herself crossing paths with Igor the Finback and his tribe of Trench Dwellers. Each time she had to pull back or risk all of them attacking her at once.
When Nerissa learned of the deeper plot of the Chaos Legion, she vowed to defend Praetoria and its inhabitants with her life.
A wave carried Nerissa quickly to the shore. A small village awaited her, bordered by the jungle and currently drenched in the raging thunderstorm.
A worker on the dock held up his lantern, squinting. Then he gasped. “Nerissa the Hurricane!”
Nerissa's bare feet made contact with the gritty sand. She strode quickly towards him. “We must gather everyone in the village! A great wave is coming. I will lead the people to safety on higher ground.”
“Yes, ma'am!” he turned and rushed off towards the homes.
Nerissa turned to look out at the angry ocean. The wild wind whipped her hair back from her face. No one would die tonight. Not on her watch.
THE CARD POWER
NERISSA TRIDAWN is an Epic Water Monster with no ability at any Level. This monster has three (3) magic attacks, two (2) speed, and nine (9) lives. Also, it needs nine (9) mana to get summoned in the field. By looking at the overall characteristics of this monster, we can say that even though it does not have any ability, it is still powerful due to its attack. This monster has magic attacks, which means it can directly reduce the life of its enemy. That is a powerful move. Also, there's only a few abilities that can resist magic attacks. With that, having a monster with magic attack on the battle is such a huge advantage. In terms of speed, this monster is not really reliable. A two (2) speed means that this monster has only a 10% chance of evading attacks. That is a very low chance and based on experience, it is very rare that this number of speed can evade an attack. Despite its downfall on speed, luckily, this monster has the strength to resist attacks. The nine (9) lives can go a very long way on the field. With that number of lives, this card can surely survive many rounds. But, using this monster is a risk on the field due to its high mana. This monster needs nine (9) mana and that number of mana is not a joke. It can already summon three (3) different monsters. With that, we can say this monster can only be used in high mana fights. In the low mana fight, this monster is not recommended.
SUGGESTED TACTICS FOR THIS CARD
- NEVER PLACE THIS MONSTER IN TANK POSITION. Nerissa Tridawn is a magic attacker. Therefore, it has the ability to attack from any position. It would be a waste of ability if this monster was placed in the first position. Also, even though it has nine (9) lives, it is not suggested for it to be in the first position due to its power.
- PLACE THIS MONSTER AT THE LAST POSITION. Due to the kind of attack that this monster has, it is very important to make it alive as long as possible. It is an advantage having a magic attacker on the team.
- FIND A SUMMONER THAT WILL GIVE THIS MONSTER SHIELD. In Splinterlands, shields have important roles. It resists all the melee and ranged attacks. Sometimes, due to an ability, the shield is the first one to take damage. Even one (1) shield can resist ten melee attacks or range attacks. With that, by giving Nerissa Tridawn shields, you can potentially extend the life of it up until the next round. The Summoner that you can use with this monster are:
- GIVE THIS MONSTER AN ABILITY IN ORDER TO PROTECT ITSELF. There are many summoners in Splinterlands that can give abilities to all friendly monsters. It will be great if Nerissa Tridawn will obtain the ability so that we can elevate its power. I believe that this monster can do more and can become one of the meta if it has extra ability.
So that's all for today, Splinter Community ! Have a nice day!
