In this post I will summarize a story from my amazing activity today, which is hunting fish in the river at night with my friends. Today I did many other amazing activities such as hunting pictures in the morning and helping my uncle in the garden in the afternoon. And after returning from my uncle's garden at 04.00 pm, I met some of my friends who were waiting for me in the hut in front of my house, and the reason they were waiting for me was to invite me to do an activity, which is hunting fish in the river at night, hearing that statement I immediately agreed to their invitation.
I immediately prepared some equipment for hunting such as a fishing net that is very much needed in this hunt, and some other equipment such as food and drinks. After preparing some equipment I went to the river to check first the river that we would cross later tonight.
I did some checks such as making sure how fast the river water and the river current that we would pass through were and understanding every bend in the river, to see more widely I climbed up the hill so I could see the river as a whole. After some time exploring the river I felt very confident and after that I went straight home to tell my friends.
And after discussing it for quite a while, finally there were some friends who did not join the hunt this time because there were several obstacles such as work, and there were three people who joined the hunt this time, namely me and two of my other friends.
After that I immediately rushed to the bathroom to clean myself first, and after finishing some light work at home I immediately prepared to do this hunt. And after waiting a few minutes finally my friends who joined this hunt had gathered in front of my house and we had a little discussion to determine each task in this hunt.
After everything was ready, we immediately headed to the river to do this hunt, and we really hoped to get satisfactory results. The night atmosphere was so quiet and the songs of small insects in the forest were very clear, the dark and cold atmosphere made me feel something extraordinary.
According to some statements from the old people in our village, fish will come out of hiding a lot at night and it will be easier for us to find them and also easier for us to catch them.So that's the reason why we hunt fish at night.
When we were in the river, we were immediately faced with several groups of tilapia fish, which were very numerous, but the task of catching the fish was my friend's, so he immediately used his experience and expertise in catching fish using nets.
As I had expected, my friend immediately got it, and the fish he had caught would be put into a plastic bag that had been prepared from the start.
Oh yes, my job in this hunt is to be a guide because I am used to being in the river when hunting for pictures, so I can already memorize every route in the river. And we do this hunt from downstream to upstream so that the water above is not murky when we pass through it. "If the hunt is from upstream to downstream, we will have a hard time seeing fish because we walk in the water so that the water that flows down becomes dirty". This is also a little knowledge for friends who do not understand this method.
After catching fish in that area, we immediately walked slowly but surely and continued to follow the river current, and after yesterday's flood in my village, the fish in the river have now increased in number so that we can see several small fish in large numbers in the river.
And my friend who was given the task to catch it was a very brave person, he dared to enter the river area where the water was a little deep to catch fish, and of course experience and courage were needed.
And these are the interim results that we have obtained.
Those are some of the fish that we managed to catch, and on this hunt we only focused on tilapia, catfish and snakehead fish, but the ones we caught the most were tilapia because currently tilapia dominates this river.
However, because I was in the river, I couldn't capture every moment because it was very risky, plus the river current was quite strong, so I had to take advantage of every opportunity to capture some moments. Because if I made the slightest mistake, my cellphone might fall into the water and that would also be very detrimental.
And after walking for about an hour, we finally decided to take a short break on the riverbank to recover from our tiredness, and while we were resting, we took some pictures with the aim of immortalizing some of these beautiful moments.
and when we were resting suddenly a frog approached us, according to the information I received, the frog approached us because it saw the flashlight we were carrying.
and after resting for a while we immediately decided to continue the journey but when we were walking suddenly the river current suddenly changed to being very strong where I had to put my cellphone in my bag to avoid unwanted things.
The further we walked towards the upstream of the river the water became faster which made it a bit difficult for us to see the fish in the water, but we continued this hunt and we managed to get some more fish and that made us feel very satisfied. but in the middle of our hunting fun it suddenly rained, of course that was a bad sign for us if we stayed in the river, because it was feared that there would be a flood, rather than taking the risk we decided to stop this hunt and decided to end this hunt and get ready to go home.
On our way home we took the land route because it was more energy efficient and would get us home faster. Once we reached land, we rested again to recover from our fatigue before continuing our journey home.
After taking a short break, we immediately continued our journey home and passed several plantations owned by local residents, of course we had to pass several obstacles such as wild grass and thorny tree branches because the area on the edge of the river was still very dirty. And we arrived home exactly at 11.30 which was already midnight.
As soon as we got home, we immediately looked at the results of our hunt.
That was the result we got, and we managed to get a lot of tilapia fish which were also big in size, It was a very tiring hunt, but after seeing the catch, my tiredness immediately disappeared. We immediately divided the many fish equally so that everyone who took part in the hunt got their share, we also shared some fish with our neighbors so that they could also enjoy the deliciousness of the fresh fish that we had just caught.
This is a truly extraordinary activity, an activity where we can see how nature works and get closer to nature, it is truly an extraordinary thing, this is a simplicity but can bring extraordinary happiness. Happiness itself has many meanings, but happiness can be felt when we feel satisfaction, pleasure, calm, and meaningful life lessons with what we have done.
