United Nations Day/Month is an essential celebration as it clasps diversity and promotes peace and holistic well-being of people. It is also an official day to recognize the diversity of culture, religion, and languages all over the world.
More so, on this day, countries work together to advocate ideals of peace and harmony among individuals from all origins.
In School we practice to celebrate United Nations every month of OCTOBER! Every grade level will represent one Country. This activity involves learners and teachers to have first hand experience on how to act like people in the other country. They will dress, speak, sing and dance like what they represent. It was indeed an enjoyable and productive day. The learners are having fun and at the same time they are learning to embrace diversity. I believed that this siple celebration will give big impact to end racism and build peace.
