Songs have power in more ways than one. A simple lyric can evoke intense emotions, a chord can strike natural, ethereal beauty in our souls, a drum beat can send armies marching. Here are three tunes that have moved me in more ways than one.
(Snow on the mountains in So. Cal. Monday)
I'll start with a new song by a UK duo, Matrix & Futurebound, who have been around for 25 years! Good lord has it been that long?!?! Their song's simple lyric opened up a firestorm in my mind when I first heard it, because it is so truthful. The lyric is this, "Time with you is never time wasted." If you have a wife and children this simple phrase is so truthful and one of the most powerful I have heard in a song. Our lives are so short and every second you have with your loved ones is never wasted. Have a listen.
Matrix & Futurebound - 'Weightless' ft. Glacier Baby
My next tune is simply a you woman, in the Iglesia de la Encarnacion church in Montefrio, Spain, singing . It's simple, powerful and moving.
"O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" by Malinda Kathleen Reese
My last tune is a classic that everyone will know. It's is possibly one of the greatest pieces of music ever written. I wonder how many countless people it has inspired to do something beautiful in life?
Tchaikovsky - Waltz of the Flowers from The Nutcracker
Thanks for listening!
Thanks to @boxcarblue for introducing me to #TTT and @ablaze for dreaming it up.
