According to many research, listening to music and singing has been shown to be beneficial.
Singing seems to be a stress reliever, according to a scientific research from 2015. In the research, the amount of cortisol, the stress hormone, in the saliva of the participants before and after singing was measured.
In the study, the amount of cortisol appeared to be lower after singing, indicating that singing relieves stress. It also reveals that singing loudly lowers the amount of cortisol even more, indicating that singing loudly is relaxing. In addition, research shows that when people sing in environments where they feel comfortable, it is even more relaxing. If you want to see the whole research, click here. I just saw this research and I believe the research is correct. I'm busy these days so I'm a little stressed out. After reading this research, I sang out loud today and it felt really good. Listening to music relaxes me, but I realized that singing relaxes me more.
The song I listened to and sang the most today was James Blunt's You're Beautiful. This song means a lot to me that's why I love this song, I think it was released 20 years ago. Great songs never get old.
