A new version of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein's immortal classic "The Sound of Music" soundtrack, featuring more than 40 previously unreleased songs and unheard vocals from Christopher Plummer, will be released on December 1 under the name Super Deluxe Edition. Additionally, the standard edition will be refurbished with the original 16 tracks available in standard digital, HD digital and in a Dolby Atmos mix. Super Deluxe Edition will also include recordings in Spanish, German, French and Italian.
The Sound of Music is a 1965 American musical drama film produced and directed by Robert Wise and starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, as well as Richard Haydn, Peggy Wood, Charmian Carr and Eleanor Parker. The Sound of Music is an adaptation of the 1959 stage musical composed by Richard Rodgers with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein. The Sound of Music was a major commercial success, becoming the number one box office film four weeks after its release, and the highest-grossing film of 1965. It also became the highest-grossing film of all time in November 1966, held that distinction until 1971. Additionally, The Sound of Music broke box office records in twenty-nine additional countries. 283 million people watched the film worldwide and it grossed a total of $286 million worldwide. It received five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
In The Sound of Music, stars Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer as a spunky governess and a strict father of seven who fall in love in Austria against the backdrop of the beginning of World War II. While Christopher Plummer recorded songs for this film, his vocals were dubbed by Bill Lee. And 58 years later, Christopher Plummer's previously unheard vocals will be released. Meanwhile, Christopher Plummer died in February 2021 at the age of 91.
The new edition of The Sound of Music will be released in expanded, remastered and remixed form on December 1. It features over 40 previously unreleased tracks, collecting every musical element from the film for the first time, including instrumentals for each song, demos, and rare outtakes from the cast. The full version consists of 5 discs, one of which is BLU-RAY, and contains 162 tracks. It is possible to pre-order the Super Deluxe Edition, which will be released on December 1, now.

I am one of the fans of this wonderful musical movie. It is a really great movie. Even though it is about 60 years old, it is one of the movies that I can watch without getting bored. And there are really great songs in the movie, I can say that my favorite is "Do-Re-Mi" because I have so much fun listening to this song. I would also like to point out that the scene above is my favorite scene in the movie. Every time I listen to this song it makes me want to run across the field and sing. Just like in the movie.
