We're supposed to visit a remittance center last Friday, but I encouraged Mom to do it on December 2, which is today. The reason we're going there is, well, obviously, to withdraw some money. It's her SSS pension, and she learned that they can already withdraw their pension for December, including the 13th month. Basically, she'll get double the amount of her pension.
As for the reason why I encouraged Mom to do it today, I read on the SSS official page that the schedule for withdrawal for the first and second batches was December 2 and December 4. And true that some can already withdraw their pension, but there are some that can't yet. I think the problem is in the bank they're using. I thought Mom was using Landbank, but she's not. I forgot that she's using different ATM cards, lol.
Still, just to be sure that the money is on her account already, it's better to go at the right time rather than earlier. At least our walk and visit there won't be wasted if ever the money hasn't arrived yet. Right? Right? ( ꈍᴗꈍ)
And so, early in the morning, me and Mom had a quick trip going to the remittance center. I brought an umbrella with me. The rain has stopped already, but just to be sure, I still brought an umbrella. By the way, I saw this cute plant of Mommy D on the table outside her store. It's a chili, according to her.
The ground is still wet from the rain last night. The weather is still gloomy, for which I am thankful, at least this walk of us will be just a chilling one. We can take our time to walk slowly. Mom didn't drive her tricycle because it has full cover, lol. She's actually annoyed with Mommy D because she's the one who wants it to be covered in full. She's afraid that the shiny stainless steel will attract the lightning. Mommy D can be O.A. sometimes, lol.
I love the view here going forward. That's why our walk is more enjoyable. I want to ask Mom to go to the park because I heard the Shakey's on Wheel is in there right now. But she's complaining about her legs, so I stop myself, lol. If she knew, she'd surely go in there to order pizza, lol. It's her favorite, the pizza. Not the brand.
We arrive in the center after minutes of a wonderful walk. There's a customer withdrawing some money, so we waited for their transaction to be finished. Mom sits in the chair while I remain standing, just waiting.
While waiting, I noticed this cute Parol or lantern that was hung in there. There's just one, and there's a Christmas light too. I remember this is the kind of Parol I often bring to school during highschool. Our teacher will give us a project, which is to bring a parol, and they will be hung outside and inside the classroom. We'll just buy it, while some will really make an effort to make theirs. Those are fun days.
Anyhow, the customer before us finishes their transaction, so it's our turn. We proceeded on withdrawing the money, and Mom was so happy. This is the benefit of getting insurance and paying for it monthly. She can use it now that she's a senior.
So it's time to go back home. We didn't even sweat, but it's still tiring though, lol.
Then, during lunch time, Mom decided to buy roasted chicken in Chooks To Go. So we went there to buy half of it.
And we had a sumptuous lunch with the roasted chicken as the main dish. We also bought a vegetable dish called Monggo't Balatong. It's a Ginisang Mung Bean with meat, and with that, our lunch is complete.
