Mama brought our injured baby chicks, Ofelia, to the backyard to breathe some fresh air and to get some sunlight. She can already walk, but she's not completely healed yet. She's still limping, and it will really take time before she can walk. I think the medicine she let her take is effective, seeing that her feet are improving. Anyway, while in the backyard, I noticed the papaya tree below our window. I think those seeds Mom throws in there started to sprout.
Here it is, there's a lot of them that sprouted. Soon, we'll have a papaya tree again and fruit to harvest. And you know how healthy papayas are, whether as a fruit or as a vegetable to our Tinola. Who loves Papaya in their Tinola? Moms love it, but I actually prefer Chayote, lol. But well, the oldies will enjoy this more as a fruit. They love to eat it when they turn yellow and orange. Do you love ripe papaya?
On the other side of the yard, I saw Ikay watching something intently in the wall of our neighbor. So I also decided to watch her because, why not, lol. I can't see what she's seeing in there - maybe a lizard or something that crawling, an insect or a worm. They love lizards, they eat them, they eat rats too. I can't understand why they still eat those things, even though they are eating their food three times a day. But still, we're thankful to them, especially Wiswis.
Just this morning, I saw her eating a small lizard. I even thought she stole a fish from our casserole in the kitchen because it makes a noise. But when I checked, the casserole was not open, and then I saw Wiswis eating a lizard. She just had her snack, but when she sees a prey, she'll really run for it.
I also went to Mama's backyard near the old couple's house, and I saw this tiny, pretty flower. There's just two of them, and I accidentally picked this up. I just meant to touch them, but I didn't know that it was too fragile. It is so pretty and yellow. I inspect the plant where I picked this, and I was in for a surprise because I also saw a really tiny fruit hanging in there.
But first, here's the plant, it's called Ampalaya Plant or Bitter Gourd Plant. I didn't even know that they planted this here. There's a tomato planted in here before, but after harvesting some fruits from it, it died. And now it was replaced with this plant.
And here's the tiny, bitter gourd. After checking, there's only one of it here. I think it is just starting, which is why there's only one sprouted bitter gourd. Cute no? Now I'm wondering how big it will get and how long. I will watch out for this one, I'll check it again maybe after a week to see if it gets bigger already. Ehe.
Let me also share this tiny dragonfly. It is so tiny, I had a hard time capturing it. Look at how blurred the photo is. Lol. I could take a more clear photo if only it didn't move away. I think it moves three times flying down in different leaves. Until it totally flies away from this spot. But if you look closely at the second photo, you'll see it. So did you see it?
I had time to walk again in our backyard yesterday. I do it every day, actually, but it's just that yesterday is kinda special because I saw pretty things while having my walk in there. I noticed some beautiful changes, and I even discovered these new plants sprouting in our land, thanks to the old couple downstairs \(^o^)/. It is such a pleasant walk. It feels good to rest my eyes, away from my phone screen, just with nature and with our lovely pets.
