For the third week of the dreemport collaboration with Worldmapping, I would be sharing one of my favorite place which is always a visit to the beach. There is no doubt that the beach is one of the most fun and relaxing place one can visit. It also helps that the nearest beach is about an hour drive from my place.
For those who also loves visiting the beach like me, they can attest to the fact that there is level of calmness that one gets from merely looking at the waves or just being in its surroundings. No matter the number of times I visit this beach, the feeling never gets old.
I also visit the beach during festive periods but only if I am going with friends or families because it's always crowded and it can only be fun when you are not alone. I also go alone to the beach but that's whenever I want to have an alone time.
Amongst all the beaches in my area, my favorite is the Suntan Beach located at Badagry, Lagos State. I recently visited this beach once again as I needed to clear my head.
One fateful day,I was bored at home and needed to go out. So I decided to go to the beach to clear my head. Seeing that I have the necessary things I needed to go pack, I just picked few things and off I went. It didn't take me long to get a bus right from my bus-stop down to the beach.
I was wearing my headphones blasting music on my way down. As the bus gets closer to the beach, I can practically smell the beach even before coming down from the bus. On getting there, I paid for the gate fee and went in. The gate fee usually vary depending on the period. It's slightly higher during festive period as many people troops in to have fun, cruising around.
When I got inside, I rented a hut and sat in, enjoying the view of the beach. I took the snacks and drinks I brought along from my bag and ate while watching few people who were around the beach at the time having fun of their own. Some people were in the water while some children were running around, playing at the shoreline. I also went with a book which I read while lying in the hut.
After sometime, I also got up to walk around, getting my feet in the water taking in its warm scent and enjoying the feel of the water on my feet.
Standing right there at the beach did help me clear my thoughts. I stayed at the beach for about five hours before deciding to call it a day. The journey back home was as smooth as the journey to the beach and I am already looking forward to another visit to the beach, probably during the Holidays.
Thank you all for reading.
