The EYES

Have you noticed? There are hidden cameras placed in plain sight. The eyes we have have always been the cameras we never noticed were watching and recording.

This is a tale of two lovers, Mark Orayo and his girlfriend, Anna Whisly. The two were so deeply in love that people considered their relationship to surpass even the classic Romeo and Juliet. Some even said that if those two had reincarnated, it would be Mark and Anna.

The lovers intended to marry, settle down, build a home, and grow old together. So, they decided to rent an apartment together. They were lovers, yes, but that doesn't mean they were faultless. Mark was a workaholic, always keeping late nights, while Anna struggled with a drinking problem. Both were working on themselves and learning to understand each other daily. They knew that for their relationship to work, they would have to rise above their flaws and learn to love beyond them.

The real estate agent called them, saying they had found a nice house in a wonderful neighbourhood. Mark and Anna checked it out: "It's perfect, spacious, and homey, a great place to build a home." They took the house.

Upon moving in, they noticed an old lady living opposite them, always looking and watching them through her window. Anna harmlessly called her "Monitoring Spirit," while Mark jokingly referred to her as "Village People." They always showed kindness, the old lady never reciprocated. They never knew her name, nor knew why she never stepped out her house.

The two got married and started a family. Mark knew he had to work harder, putting in more time, he told his wife. Anna was okay with it, but as weeks passed, the stress of caring for the baby took its toll, and she unfortunately turned to drinking to take away the stress . Mark always came home late and tired, leaving early to beat traffic. He didn't know his wife was drowning, and his baby was starving.

Months passed. One faithful day, Mark arrived home early, having decided to change. He found his wife sleeping, but the baby was nowhere to be found. He woke his wife, but she was too drunk to be useful. He began to shout, cry, regret, search, and fear. Many possibilities flooded his mind. He tried his best to be calm but couldn't.

He finally got his wife sober, and she realised she had messed up, she was still useless, she could not remember a thing. They called the police, but after two days, there was no positive outcome. They decided to ask their neighbours. The old lady, Mommy Racheal, formerly known as Agnes, was the last person they asked.

Most times, they saw Mrs. Agnes (the old lady) when they tried to open their door, as she would immediately close her curtains. But this scenario necessitated them to ask the "Monitoring Spirit." Mrs. Agnes shouted, "Who is it?" They answered, and she let them in, offering cookies and asking why they had come to see her.

Mark and Anna humbly begged if she had seen or heard something. Mrs. Agnes said yes. "I have always wondered if you two had family members; I hardly see them." Then Mark replied, "Yes, we're not on speaking terms with them, but my sister did come to visit." "Oh, is that tall girl your sister, then?" she asked. "Yes, tall and slim, she is my sister," Mark answered.

"I think it was her that I saw the last time the baby was crying helplessly," Mrs. Agnes recounted her several attempts to help the baby, but the door was always locked, and her legs failed her other times, I am old and if I had called the police I would have been branded as a bad person. The last occupants of that house did so, so I try to mind my business. "But I saw a tall, slim lady take the baby; I assumed you two knew."

At this point, they knelt down and thanked Mommy Racheal; she was the hidden camera they never installed but was always recording. They rushed out and got their baby back. Mark quit his job and decided to help out and support his wife through her drinking problems. They both went for therapy.

Years passed, and the family blossomed. Mommy Racheal, now a family friend, was the best thing that had ever happened to them. She was the hidden camera in plain sight.

There are cameras everywhere, most of them, we don't see or even know they are there.

Sorry, we suffer blackout after my post. I will do that as soon as possible.

I don't blame the couple. I don't like neighbors like that. I would have avoided monitoring spirit too.
Glad their baby was safe.

Yes, everybody would avoid them. She is creepy. But she had her reasons
