Eating until I die

Excellent week my dear hive ladies. Hand in hand this week with the themes of friend @elizabethbit. I share the contest post: Post Ladies of Hive Community Contest #210. Here in Venezuela there are few places that celebrate Halloween, although some schools and neighborhoods do it more and more frequently. The children dress up and go trick-or-treating. It is a fun activity for them.

Halloween, a celebration that was originally celebrated, was framed with the solstice or harvest. As the Halloween celebration ends, we begin to take out the Christmas tree and the birth of the baby Jesus, which is traditional in my family.

Christmas is coming and many only think about preparing space in their stomachs, because we eat a lot, right?

As always, inviting friends to get to know the community: @ineyashami, @cositav, @helicreamarket and @robotgirl2024

1.- 'Tis the season! From Halloween through the other Holidays, food is at the center of it all! Whether main dishes or treats like desserts and candies, the smorgasbord is never ending. How do you deal with the abundance and keep from overeating, or do you? What tips can you offer to keep it under control?

2.- What is the earliest you have ever decorated for the Holidays? Tell us the traditional start time for your culture and your specific earliest you've decorated and why you chose to start early.

Really, during these Christmas periods, we eat too much. One Christmas, I had to go to a neighbor who was injured skating and the emergency room at the medical center was full with people who thought they were having a heart attack and it was digestive discomfort. It is a very complicated time to commit excess.

Traditionally in my home I place the nativity scene in the first days of December. I used to have a fairly large plastic Christmas tree, but when my children grew up they no longer wanted to help me put it together and much less put it away, so one Christmas I gave it to a woman who helped me clean the house I had. small children and she took him very happy.

Now I do less preparation or less food because I don't have many people for Christmas dinner. But I always prepare a nice table with the traditional tablecloth woven by my mother-in-law and prepare stuffed chicken, salad and cheese. I buy the rest or they almost always give me hallacas and ham bread.

If I have the opportunity to prepare the hallacas, I join the family members who prepare it, because that takes a lot of work and preparation. It is more fun to get together and share in the preparation of the hallacas while we drink cream punch and listen to aguinaldos.
