Sometimes, all you want is a little downtime. I have been running through out the week doing projects and studying for my mid semester and also running my business .
The weekend is finally here — a chance to relax, maybe catch some football, maybe just stay in and Netflix and chill.. Its being a busy week, sometimes i just wanna to shut off my brain for a few hours. This weekend I want to explore some of the many things I can do to enjoy the weekend, both indoors and outdoors. I think it will be fun to plan a few activities and see what we can come up with. Lets talk about the outdoor part.
The Outdoor Fun
I plan on spending the weekend watching football instead of going out. It'll be nice to relax and not worry about being antisocial. I'm also not sure if the hostel leagues are still in plan, so I'll probably just stay home and watch the English premier league, Spanish LaLiga and more games on TV. This won't be the worst weekend I've had but can be worse if my team losses. I cant stand the tease and embarrassment again. The excitement, the energy, the drama — it's all a great way to relax and wind down.
Also, this football season is finally here even though it started somewhere last week, and the hype is real. For we football fans, the games are a chance to catch up on their favorite teams and players, and to share in the spirit of the games with friends and family. But for those who aren't yet football fans, the games can be a great way to get introduced to the sport and its players.
I started the weekend with so much joy but ended it with so much sadness because my team Manchester United lost for the second time to Brentford by 4 goals to nil. It’s such an embarrassing thing. I can’t even do anything again. Thank God I was able to finish up my assignments and laundry before going to watch the game. This wasn’t how I wanted my weekend to go but it has started so bad that it’s quite possible that it might affect my Sunday which I normally don’t do much but write.
The Indoor Fun
Well, during the weekend, like I said earlier, I didn't really do much indoors. First of all, I did a bit of meditation. I meditated for 30 minutes , and the funny thing was, I didn’t get much out of it. I slowly came to the conclusion that I’m not a meditator and that, in fact, meditation can be quite boring, especially if you’re just talking to yourself in your head. I abandoned the practice.
Over the past week, I have done some extensive research on the benefits of meditation on people’s health, well-being, and performance. The scientific research i studied has shown that meditation can have significant impact on stress levels, energy levels, and focus, and can help people who face high levels of stress, anxiety, or depression, achieve better health, and even live longer. This was one of the reasons why i wanted to start this meditation maybe with time i will see its benefits.
Secondly, and lastly, I did read a few chapters of a novel I have been reading for a week now. It's called the 44 laws of Power, written by Robert Greene. It's actually one book I admire so much because it actually teaches you more guidelines to shape your future. I will just share a few of the laws here so we learn a bit. Never put trust in your friends is the second law in the book, which speaks so much volume to me. I believe even as a human you shouldnt trust so much because it is easy to betray than trust.
I ended my indoor activity with some movies I downloaded. It was really fun to watch. I enjoyed watching them. I think I will close my chapter to my two in one weekend activity.
