Every single human on this planet has at one point or another experienced fear, worry or sadness.
I won’t want to extend the feelings to animals but we all know this is very relevant to them, and I believe pet owners can relate more.
Depression and anxiety are not bad feelings because I feel as humans, as long as we live, there are moments in life when we think about how things are and how things should be, what we desire and what we are yet to achieve, where we should be and so on.
As long as we strive to be better, to be what we desire to be, we will meet some challenges on our route to success which may seem to discourage us or make us uncomfortable.
As stated earlier, depression and anxiety are not bad but how we respond or react to these feelings determines the end result.
I think it is not too good to respond negatively to the challenges of life. If there is something that has helped me in life, it is worry and fear.
There was a time when my response to these feelings was negative, I thought about stuff and did nothing about them but get all emotional about how things were not yet working without working on making things work — this is the worst place to be, a state of helplessness!
I know some situations are beyond reasoning, for example, losing a loved one or having to deal with a health challenge but I believe the best way to handle this is through acceptance and help from people with trust.
Anything within my control I work on it! I don’t take time to entertain any fear or worry.
I just make plans to get things sorted out and for the ones beyond my control, I accept the situation or get help.
I lost my uncle last year and discovered I couldn’t sleep because I couldn’t accept the fact that I wouldn't see him again.
I got help and afterward, I was fine. In a moment like that, I discovered therapies can go a long way and that was what helped me.
My recommendations for dealing with depression and anxiety are simple and direct, either work a way out, accept the situation, or get help from people you trust.
