In African society, most people are unemployed due to the fact that they do not have the necessary skills to back their education with. In this era, without skill, it is difficult for you to be employed. There are some practices in African societies that must be stopped, or else most young people (Youth) will still be unemployed. Some of these practices are our system of education.
Comparing the other countries, their system of education is different from ours. With our system of education, we are always learning theory and less practice. This can affect us become in the job market, they do not need a theory of the job but they need the skills. When these are not changed, it really going to be affected by most of the young people, especially the youth who are seeking jobs.
In African countries, I have realized that most of the young people are very smart and intelligent but yet they do not get jobs to do WHY? This is because of a lack of skills. Looking at the struggle of the government to provide jobs for the youth, we must find ways and means to get jobs for yourselves. That is gaining skills to earn something for yourself.
In the modern era, when you do not have digital skills, it is difficult for you to get work. The reason is, in the workplace digital skills are needed because as the world grows technologically, so as in the workplace the demand to improve in the work will be increased. Because of that, if you do not have a skill, it will be very difficult for you to get a job. Well digital skill is the ability of you to be able to use the skills you have to create something or content using digital devices such as mobile phones and computers.
It is advisable for every individual to get a skill in his or her life so that when there are no jobs for you to get, you can use it as a side hustle for yourself. There are many platforms where you can skill your skills and earn some money. Some are using Fiverr, Upwork, and some other freelancing platforms.
