My Favorite Hive Author

in #hive-1801642 years ago

Hello Hivers and Bibliophiles!

There are a lot of great Authors on Hive, So when someone says "Oh, that’s my favorite author”.I wonder how they determine that. Not in a critical way..but more so in a..” I wonder what YOUR criteria for favorite author look like compared to mine”

I have a hard time picking just one favorite anything, so picking a favorite Hive author is out of the question. However, I would like to talk about one of my favorite Hive Authors.

When I returned to Hive, I struggled with writing articles because, to be honest, I'm not a good writer nor do I possess what it takes to attract people to my page through written words. All I did was stick to creating (Chess) Video contents. I did this for a while till I came across this page on the blockchain

https://peakd.com/@edicted/posts

I saw this page as I was scrolling on the trending feeds, He had a long article written with a very attractive header. I didn't plan to read it as I saw the word count was about "4000 Words" I didn't have that time to spare. I was like "Let me quickly scroll through"

After reading the first lines, I ended up reading it in full!

One of My favorite Hive Authors is @edicted and this post would tell you why his writings have such a profound effect on me.

What An Irony!

How does someone that hated writing in school become a prolific writer on the blockchain?

I read @edicted posts every day and most times I read them twice. A standout reason is that I discover something new every day and I have to fully re-read to grasp the concept. If you go take a look very quickly at his posts, you will discover he writes only in the Leofinance community.

Does that make his posts finance related? And do you think financial content is boring?

To be honest, Financial content creators use a lot of fancy terms which could be quite complicated for people who just want to have a fun read. They could use everyday terms to explain what they mean, but that’s usually boring. This is one reason why @edicted stands out and to me, he is one of the best writers on the blockchain. I would go on to highlight more reasons why I love this author with examples from his works.

There Is Always Something To Learn

I love @edicted for his sense of humor, eccentricity, and style. He always writes in such a way that makes me feel comfortable with his words.

I always find his articles very comprehensive and filled with information for the unknowledgeable me. I'd begin with one of the best articles I've ever read.

Ladder Anxiety! by @edicted

This article means a lot to me as I could relate to the topic.

Everyone who has played a competitive mode in a video game, whether it be in a solo or a team environment, has probably come to the point where (s)he didn’t want to queue for ranked play anymore, in fear of playing the next game.

This is what we usually refer to as ladder anxiety.
This anxiety can be so crippling that it creates the ultimate paradox of wanting to do something, but wanting to do the thing makes one ironically not want to do it anymore. The fear is real. The psychology is devastating and even maddening.

This post went on to talk about how to avoid tilt and curb ladder anxiety. It was a very emotional post for me, it reminded me alot. It's a good read if you often struggle with ladder anxiety. I had a long comment there, you can check it out too :)
A very well-written and structured post.

Good Story Telling

How exactly would you not enjoy a Crypto post that starts with a very interesting Analogy? Something like humorous poetry!

untitled.gif

He writes about bitcoin and crypto comparing them to a flying car or a roaring lion with the use of very funny and relatable memes.

It not so difficult to read over 2000 words if it starts like this,

"Imagine, if you will, that crypto is a 3D-printer."

_"At first the 3D-printer schematics printed out some basic stuff."

"But then the 3D-printer started printing naughty things.".....

The Flying Car Analogy by @edicted

OR

"I have often compared the legacy economy to the undead.
Within this context, traditional corporations can not die, just like a zombie or a vampire can not die, unless they run out of brains or blood to feast upon. They are immortal.
Meanwhile, within this same context Bitcoin is alive. The comparison I make is to that of an armadillo. Things that are alive are just weird and constantly evolving.

Learning About Hive!

Every since I found this author, I've learnt a lot about Hive which I feel is priceless. I really love the way he explains complex Hive terms. I've learnt a lot from understanding How Hive witnesses works to understanding the concept of Resource credits.

Here is a post that talks about the latter.

Resources Credits On Hive by @edicted

A cool Author!

I admire many writers on Hive but @edicted is someone I know a bit. We have played a lot of games outside the blockchain. Chess, GO and Factorio! This is one reason I understand some of his posts and it's easier to ask for his opinions sometimes. It's weird but I usually rant a lot too in his DM :)

I remember one time I told him about 48 laws of power by Robert Greene and we discussed a bit about it.

It took him less than a day to come up with a blog about the book!

48 Laws Of Power By @Edicted

It was a such a great read from a great person!

In Conclusion...

I have learnt a lot of writing from this author and I hope to keep learning. He is one of my favorite Authors on Hive.

Hehehehe! Thanks, trying to lead the way ;)

Muy buena reseña de este autor de la cadena de bloques. Éxito en el concurso. Gracias por la recomendación.

There are some really good authors on here including people who do have books released.

It is nice knowing who have inspired you and keep you going on the blockchain, just as you have said, he is one of the best Author's with great post.

I bet, there are some really good authors here on Hive and it's such a pity we can't get to know them all because Hive is a big place to visit and roam about 😆😆
But through contests like this, we get to know something about them.
Thanks for sharing 😎

Nice author choice no doubt he's one of my favorite on this chain wish you the very best.

I've known your favourite author from a distance and once read a post by him... He's all you've said about him no doubt!

His articles in the Leofinance community are all top-notch, always getting one hooked to them till the end no matter how lengthy they seem.

You've done well to appreciate him by sharing how awesome he is, he will continue to be awesome 😊

First entry of the contest and you led the way very well... Lovely write up.

Honestly, I don't fully understand his posts in one go. So have to read multiple times to get the gist. But he is one of the smartest people I know in all of crypto. 🔥

It is hard to choose one person in the world of thousands of writers, you must have found a lot of knowledge in him and I didn't hesitate to quickly check his profile.

I want to tap from his annoying as well, I will partake in the contest as well. Learned a lot from your content as well so I am not writing to compete, instead I am doing it to appreciate the person and make him know he is doing well.

Thank you! I would watch out for your write up

You're are absolutely right, @edicted is a really fascinating writer, sometimes I just wonder how he manages to write a post almost every day, with a word count of a thousand words and above and also the uniqueness in each of them, it's really so overwhelming I must say.

You have chosen one of the best Hive authors and I agree to all what you've said but I still find it hard to relate with some of his post and it's not because it's not good but it's because my IQ is still growing and assimilating some of his words becomes hard for me.

He's a good role model and you must be a really lucky guy to have his attention, I can imagine how many times you've dropped by at his post with meaningful comments, keep it up dear.

Thanks for sharing one of your favorite Hive writers. I now have someone new to learn from, follow, and connect with. I hope all is well in your corner of the world. Cheers!

EDIT: I thought his name sounded familiar. Then when I clicked over I realized I was already following him and much for the same reasons you listed in your post. He writes "in plain english" which makes complex topics easy to digest.

Thank you @epodcaster, I'm fine, just trying to get back to being stable here again...

How are you too?

Yes! Yes! Yes!

An excellent opportunity that these initiatives give us to meet creators of quality content, thanks for the reference of @edicted 👍

I used to think it was a bot account until I checked out the account and read a number of posts. Then I was like, 'oh, a real person!' Lol. You're very correct about one thing, once you begin reading his post, you don't want to stop till finish.

Hahahahaha... @edicted isn't a bot!
