Today, I visited a very famous place, renowned for its historical significance. This place is located in Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar. It's known as the Kuthodaw Pagoda, also referred to as the "World's Largest Book."
My Experience and Recommendations
If you plan to visit, I recommend going early in the morning or in the evening. Mandalay has a very hot climate, and we arrived at around 12:00 PM, feeling the full effects of the heat. The walkways are paved with tiles, which retain heat and make it feel even hotter. Additionally, shoes are not allowed, as the site is considered sacred in Burmese religion. For a more comfortable visit, aim for early morning or late evening.
The Kuthodaw Pagoda is stunning, with many small white pagodas surrounding it. There is also a 132-year-old Mimusops elengi tree. A visit to this place offers an opportunity to learn about the customs, culture, and history of the Burmese people.
