My Top 5 DePIN Projects For 2025

The Future Arrives Early For The Wise

DePIN is a popular topic on this blog, largely due to its enormous potential and income-generative capabilities. I have discussed the Machine Economy at length and firmly believe that those who choose to position themselves now will be able to harness and benefit largely from this new economic construct. Decentralized data models via physical devices is a simple yet powerful idea that is yet to be fully appreciated.

Monetization and incentivization are the lifeblood of this model, making it a no-brainer for anyone looking to build a passive income stream. For the average Joe, running a node, or multiple nodes on their devices is an easy way to become a part of the Machine Economy. Grass is a project that has proven to be a great opportunity. Those who began mining Grass Points a year ago can attest to its zero-effort income generation.

Grass is an obvious choice and mining Grass points is an ongoing opportunity. It’s not part of my Top 5 list, as I aim to introduce readers to newer projects. However, it remains a solid DePIN opportunity. My average monthly GRASS earnings in the previous round amounted to 15 GRASS. Once GRASS reaches $10, it will be an average of $150 in monthly passive income.

Kaisar Network

The first project on the list is Kaisar Network. These are in no particular order. Kaisar is a Peaq-based project I addressed in Saturday’s article and is another dApp similar to Grass. I am bullish on anything built on Peaq. It’s that simple, I view Peaq as the DePIN Manhattan of the world. Quality projects are attracted to Peaq as a base layer. This is due to a host of reasons.

Kaisar is a relatively new DePIN mining opportunity that simultaneously provides a decent window of opportunity to mine points that will later be converted to Peaq-based tokens. The DePIN projects being launched on Peaq are of a higher caliber regarding product packaging and presentation. The team associated with Kaisar is also in the public eye. Gradient Network

Gradient is another Solana-based bandwidth-sharing application built on Solana. This is another hassle-free way of mining points that will be converted to Solana-based tokens in future airdrops. Remember, DePIN is unlike other airdrops, incentivization continues indefinitely. It’s not a once-off occurrence. Gradient is one of the better-looking Solana options currently available in the DePIN space.

As mentioned, Solana and Peaq are dominating the DePIN space. It makes sense to gain exposure to the top DePIN projects built on these two chains. Peaq is a Layer1 built on Polkadot, which is a Layer0. By downloading the browser extension users can begin mining points. Read more about Gradient Network here.

Nodepay

This is another Solana-based project similar to Gradient Network. Nodepay is still in the early stages of point accumulation and promises to be another exciting DePIN opportunity. Compared to Grass, I find Nodepay and Gradient Network the next best opportunities. Some prefer Dawn Network, due to its level of adoption. However, my eyes are on these two alternatives. As mentioned, I am also running a Dawn node.

Nodepay incorporates great bonuses and ways to increase earnings, including Node Wars, a recently added Telegram game. I am looking forward to what Nodepay produces regarding its passive income capabilities. Read more about Nodepay here.

BlockMesh

BlockMesh is another interesting alternative and even though the UI is simple, it is easily navigated and is likely to be improved upon in time. BlockMesh is a Solana-based project, proving my point regarding Solana and Polkadot dominating the DePIN space. Despite BlockMesh’s simplicity, something about this project causes me to hold it in higher regard than projects like Dawn and MeshChain.

Recent data reveals an increase in appetite for BlockMesh with many more nodes coming online. BlockMesh, Nodepay, and, Gradient Network appear to be the best new DePIN projects on Solana. I expect many more to arise in the coming months. Read more about BlockMesh here.

DeNet

My final pick is another project built on the Peaq Network. Unlike the above-mentioned DePINs, the DeNet Watcher Node is a mobile application. One of the perks of this dApp is the opportunity to earn PEAQ tokens in the future. In other words, node operators can earn WN tokens which will later be converted to DeNet tokens and PEAQ tokens. This is a great opportunity and unlike the others is semi-passive.

Node operators must activate their node every 6 hours to earn WN. However, this is as simple as a single click, which requires a few seconds. Users can use their WN to upgrade their Watcher Node. The highest level is Stage 20. I am currently in Stage 17 and almost at my goal of Stage 20. Once reached, I will accumulate my WN to qualify for a hefty airdrop. Final Thoughts

These are truly amazing opportunities, especially when we observe the fruits of running a Grass node. It’s important to remember to link your Solana or Peaq wallet as soon as possible. Please do so to avoid missing out on the initial airdrop. DePIN is reshaping passive income in the Crypto space. All the best, enjoy your week and I will see you in the next one!
