Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
Playing Splinterlands involves deep understanding of the different cards and how they synergizes to one another in an attempt to build the most optimal lineup to win against the opponent under the different rulesets and mana caps that is thrown in each battle. And among the many lineups that we created, there are certain combinations that becomes our favorite, either because it gives us the most wins or that it provides a very interesting battle against an opponent.
In this post, I'm gonna share you one of my favorite lineup which not only provides me with a good win rate but also gives me the most bonus in my earnings as my entry for this week's Community Engagement Challenge.
My Favorite Strategy
One of my favorite strategy does not focuses on huge damage output but rather is a defensive lineup that slowly depletes the life of the opponent. At the same time, it maximizes the use of Promo Cards which gives 10% bonus on my ranked rewards. This lineup consist of:
Summoner: Lily Shieldpaw
Dragon Summoners are very flexible as they can be used in combination with any other element, providing a wider variety of lineups and with Lily Shieldpaw, any team that was formed will not be in an immediate danger of being attacked from Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity units as it had the Camouflage ability that hides the rest of my team from direct attacks while in case that some attacks slipped by or when playing in Noxious Fumes ruleset, its Triage will be able to heal them, add to the fact that it gives +1 health on all my cards, allowing them to last longer in each battle.
Main Tank: Grimbardun Smith
Although Grimbardun Smith does not have the capability to attack the opponent, it has most of the capabilities that you want with a tank by having both Shield and Void which reduces the damage by half from any forms of attack as well as the Immunity that nullifies any negative status effect from the enemy attack and Repair which helps to restore its armor. At the same time, this is a promo card that gives 10% Bonus in my battles.
2nd Position: Oshuur Constantia
What Grimbardun Smith lack is the ability to heal itself which is compensated by Oshuur Constantia that has the Tank Heal ability and by being in the second position, it also prevents the opponent to inflict Blast damage from the rest of my team with it having the Reflection Shield which also makes it immune from Magic Reflect. At the same time, it also has Resurrect which can revive any of my unit once and gives 10% bonus for being a promo card.
Last Position: Doctor Blight
For my last unit, I used Doctor Blight which has both the Affliction and Poison ability that prevents the opponent from healing and slowly reduce its health each turn while slowly gaining health every time a monster was defeated with it's Scavenger ability. As another promo unit, using this card also gives me another 10% bonus in my rank battles.
Grimbardun Smith | 10% |
Oshuur Constantia | 10% |
Doctor Blight | 10% |
Total Bonus | 30% |
At the same time, this lineup uses both Dragon and Neutral Units which makes it very flexible in most cases while having a good synergy with each element, providing a variety of lineups.

Battle Showcase
In this battle, I decided to play with a water team but as you can see, I have included all the three promo cards within my lineup. At first look you we can see that the opponent has more speed and more damage compared to my team but with my tank having both Shield and Void, it will be really difficult for them to get through Grimbardun Smith's defense and whatever damage they incur will be easily healed by Oshuur Constantia and Merdaali Guardian as my secondary healer. As a result, round 1 ends with my team taking no damage while the opponent got their tank poisoned and one of their units with no armor.
Fast forward to round 5, you can see that the opponent has already lost 2 units while my team has remained intact, taking 0 damage and the Poison on Baakjira will just inflict more damage in to it at the start of the next round.
Finally, the battle ends in round 9 with Meardaali Guardian inflicting the last attack on Kulu Mastermind, ending the battle with my victory and the only damage I incur was the 1 damage on my Grimbardun Smith's armor. The rest of my team remains intact, taking 0 damage.
And in my battle results, we can see that in the SPS bonus, there is a 30% bonus that comes with the promo cards that I used.
Closing
Just like any strategy, this lineup was not unbeatable and there were a lot of counters to this lineup but watching a battle where my opponent barely do any damage was very satisfying and the bonus that using this promo cards greatly helps in increasing my rewards. That is why this is one of the lineup that I usually employ in ranked battles.
Thank you and see you on the next post!
