Stability
It's been a time since @PsyberX implemented the newest upgrades in the game's stability. So far, things are running nicely.
- Players from across the globe join in on the fantasy day and night.
- When challenged, the game auto-restarts as designed.
- Communications within the discord servers appear informative.
I continue to be impressed with how the players and admin interact within the server concerning questions, complaints, and challenges to the game. Everyone appears cordial, minus the occasional player's concerns about being pillaged. Everyone genuinely wants the game to succeed.
Expansion
The new-found stability has allowed Serfdom & Sorcery to expand into the Man Cave's discord server. Bro-players alike can now participate in the text-based RPG. Surprisingly enough, the realms of the Man Cave and Psyber X are connected. If I'm correct, you can steal or call players across the domain (so long as you're a member of that server).
On expanding, I was reading past messages on questions fielded to BobtheBuilder2 about spreading the game to other servers. I was delighted with how word of the game was spreading.
Trials Ahead
The game still has challenges, but the S&S developers are addressing them. Some notable challenges may include, but not be limited to:
- Continued stability issues?
- Player Occupations
- Automatic or manual payouts
- Character Balancing
On #1, I feel S&S devs have addressed the issue. Sure, they can put out updates to resolve everything related to stability. Still, it would only fix it for a time. Remember, the game is expanding across multiple servers. Future expansion only means the game may experience stability problems down the line.
On #2, I understand the players' sentiment. In my opinion, the constable job presented in the game could be better. The cooldowns are too long to make an impact. Yet, this is phase A. Discord Admins, along with the open ticket process, record these issues, and the developers will eventually handle them or communicate their decision.
On #3, developers are aware of and address the problem. An estimated time for completion wasn't communicated, and I'm okay with that fact. I would rather the issue get resolved absolutely rather than quickly.
Character balancing is the trickiest. I can't pretend to understand the intricacies of programming. Developers need data, player input, and time to evaluate and address all the concerns. I believe they are getting this information. Over time, they will achieve a level of character development suitable for the players overall.
Opinion
@PsyberX began Serfdom & Sorcery with a vision. Their vision became a reality. Things, however, will progress slowly. While the game expands, the group works towards keeping gameplay continuous and meeting the needs of the players.
The group is worth the time and investment. The Psyber X KTE game is progressing, and PsyberX's S&S shows excellent promise. You have to do your research before deciding to invest, but I've done mine and invested in them. I'm here for the long haul.
Potions are Health
@bobthebuilder2 revealed the possibility of introducing taverns into the Serfdom & Sorcery realms. Rumor has it that consumption of potions has a high alcohol content and should be taken in moderation at all times. Drink too many of them, and you might find yourself needing coins or clothing the next time you log in to the server.
