Hail to the Hive!
I have to confess to getting sidetracked with this monochromatic post as I was actually in the middle of a post of our cruising along the Southern Oxford when the B&W itch needed a scratch so I have paused that one and am now scratching my monomad itch. Hope I don’t get a rash 😉.
The cloud cover in these was just lovely and acted like a lacey veil over the sky fleshing out the palette nicely. Such a beautiful summer day and stunning to behold the detail that is revealed in black and white.
As I have mentioned before , I do have to steer the boat using my backside as I am taking these images, but it just has to be done. No way I am missing out on some of these shots.
At the moment we could be cruising for up to 6 hours or more and the landscape just keeps coughing up superb scenery, the framed images leap into my brain and I am reaching for the camera, steering with my ass. I can’t be the only one that does this surely?
And I am aware people on the tow path, as well as other boats, have seen me doing this, and I’d like to think they admire the skill that goes into it. Although they are probably grumbling under their breath that I should be concentrating on captaining the vessel lol. The British do love a good moan.
Anyway, touch wood, I haven’t crashed yet. Fingers crossed, touch wood, pray to old gods and the new !
