Hail to the Hive!
To say that I am loving being back on the canals would be a huge understatement. It has been glorious to be back in this environment and exploring new stretches of ‘the cut’. Every twist and turn of the canal seems to offer up something interesting. The scenery has been gorgeous and the villages quaint and charming, to countryside idyllic. It’s just so good to be back.
Yesterday as we chugged our way down the Kennet & Avon canal ,negotiating our way through one of the numerous locks in our path , I spied an interesting boat with an appropriate name.
Thor
Floating there as if it were sticking out it’s strong jaw daring you to hit it. I think Thor would knock little old Cygnet out cold so I thought I had better give it a wide berth, while still snapping away my shots of course. Well I mean she was a sight to behold and capturing the image was a must.
I am getting quite adept at steering the boat with my arse and having my hands free to take photos. Quite a skill and a necessary one so I can capture shots on the move and still maintain control ( with my arse) of the boat. Skills 🤣. But hey ( Butt hey ) if you can you can.
We are 6 days into our new journey and I haven’t even scratched the surface in showing you all what we have seen. It’s everything I remember and more.
