My Current Journey to 500,000 SPS Tokens: The Path to Long-Term Splinterlands Success

As I sit here and reflect, it’s amazing to realize just how far I've come in my journey of accumulating Splinterlands’ SPS tokens. I began this journey back in 2021, setting my sights on a bold goal that, at the time, felt as daunting as it was exciting. That goal was to reach 500,000 SPS tokens, and as of today, I’m at 370,646 SPS—getting closer to the mark with each milestone achieved.

For me, SPS isn’t just another asset in the world of Splinterlands. It’s a foundational token with deep, long-term potential tied directly to the game's success and ecosystem growth. I believe that if Splinterlands itself continues to succeed, the value of SPS will reflect that growth. With this in mind, I've made SPS my primary focus in Splinterlands, prioritizing it over cards and other assets. While many players diversify into various game assets, I’ve taken a different approach by putting my faith in SPS as the token that will, over time, drive the real rewards and value for those who hold it.

Don't take me wrong, I have a full Chaos Legion Core and Reward sets and even some key cards from Riftwatchers, but I chose to focus on SPS and forgo the new sets like Rebellion to speed up my goal of 500k SPS.

Also, don't forget that staked SPS earns you over 10% APR! Ten percent might not sound like much but it adds up:

Every SPS I earn I immediately stake to earn more SPS and get to my goal faster!

Setting Goals & Milestones

When I set the goal of reaching 500,000 SPS, I broke it down into smaller, achievable milestones. Each milestone—whether it was hitting 100,000, 200,000, or 300,000 SPS—felt like a small victory, building both momentum and confidence. And now, with 370,646 SPS in my portfolio, I'm moving toward that half-million target, one step at a time. Each new addition brings me closer to my goal and deeper into the Splinterlands ecosystem, fortifying my position as the next bull run approaches.

And today I am sharing with you how I am reaching another milestone, 375,000 of SPS! I am using some Hive to put a buy order on hive-engine.com

And here you see my transaction in the transaction history on Hive Engine:

My next step is to transfer SPS tokens from Hive Engine into the game and stake them to earn that ten percent APR on newly acquired SPS tokens:

Here you see me setting the From and To fields on the Transfer SPS screen:

And after staking my SPS and increasing my in-game earnings potential you can see my new staked SPS is over 375,000 !

That is how you incrementally get closer and closer to your goal!

Positioning for the Bull Run

With the U.S. elections behind us, I feel strongly that we're on the cusp of a significant bull run in Bitcoin, potentially seeing BTC prices soar to all-time highs, possibly over $100,000. Once Bitcoin hits these new peaks, I believe we'll witness a rotation into altcoins—and that’s where SPS could shine. This rotation often ignites incredible momentum in quality altcoins, and I want to be fully positioned before that begins.

When the bull run heats up, prices often skyrocket, making it harder and riskier to buy in. That’s why my accumulation strategy is aggressive right now. I want to be prepared for the altcoin wave, not scrambling to buy as SPS spikes.

Long-Term Vision with Room for Profit-Taking

My strategy for SPS is fundamentally long-term. I see it as an asset that I plan to hold for years, benefiting from both the in-game rewards and potential price appreciation as Splinterlands grows. As many of us know, the higher your SPS stake, the better the rewards in the game—a powerful incentive to keep growing my holdings. However, I’m also keeping my eyes open for opportunities to lock in profits if SPS reaches near its all-time highs. When the markets are euphoric, it can be wise to step back a bit, so having a plan to take some profits while holding the majority of my SPS is key.

As you can see in the image above DEC supply is declining which is a very good thing for the game economy. The upcoming new set release in April can do wonders for the game as it could launch an SPS flywheel where people start burning SPS to get DEC. In preparation for that I am also acquiring DEC and working on building my HIVE power via curation and blog posts like this. My goal is to accumulate at least 10,000 Hive power, but that might be a subject for another blog post :)

This journey isn’t without its challenges, but each day brings me closer to that 500,000 SPS mark. With each milestone, I feel more connected to the Splinterlands ecosystem and more optimistic about the potential that SPS holds, especially if the game continues on its current trajectory.

If you wonder what is the best way to get involved you can use my link to begin your Splinterlands and HIVE journey.

Wow, that's a massive amount.
Imagine if SPS price goes 10x :)

Thank you! It is a pretty good amount :) 10x is only 9 cents btw :) Imagine if it gets to 50 cents!

Step by step. First 10x then another 10x :)

Accumulating SPS right now, just seems so sensible if you are playing the game.

Congratulations on reaching a milestone
