Hello everyone! 😎 📷
The 323rd Shadow Hunting (SMaSH - Show Me a Shadow) Contest in a row!
This contest on the Hive Blockchain is one of the oldest, running for almost six years and consistently rewarding outstanding entries, which shows a great level of trust.
Shadows are present everywhere, during the day and at night. Capturing an incredible shadow photo is as simple as using your camera or mobile device. This photo contest isn't about technical perfection, such as framing, lighting, contrast, colors, or resolution. Instead, we're looking for a photo that captures a special moment, like a unique shadow.
Are you ready for shadow hunting? Take pictures of shadows during your walks and share them on this platform. The community rewards each post! Have you encountered something like this before? It's amazing! Trust me, you won't find this opportunity anywhere else. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
If you don't know, the Shadow Hunters community paid $8801 in rewards last year! $3954 author rewards and $4845 curator rewards! Source.
What you're waiting for?
I'm not a professional photographer, so I usually use my cell phone to take pictures. But sometimes shadows can be tricky.
Don't worry; you'll have an excellent shot if you embrace the challenge!
Let me share some of my shadow-hunting experiences through these photos.
First, some shadows from the town of Novalja on the island of Pag, Croatia. Novalja is a charming seaside town, but during the tourist season, from June to September, it can get crowded, which many people prefer to avoid.
My wife and I were there in April when everything was mostly closed, and there were few tourists. We walked the streets and the seaside, had a coffee, and I took the opportunity to catch as many shadows as I could on a very sunny day :)
Palms on the coast
Like other coastal towns in Croatia, Novalja boasts its own Riva: a promenade along the coast with a boardwalk lined with palm trees.
Fences
The shadows cast by the various fences around the houses, buildings, and other objects on the street were the most intriguing for me.
Shadows in the campsite
Then we went back to Spiritus campsite, where I had a caravan, and I continued my shadow chasing. The campsite was almost empty, but there were enough shadows.
First, the shadow of a swing on the beach is called the Holy Spirit. The grass is green, and in summer, it is usually scorched :)
The restaurant on the beach was closed (who cares about a few guests if it's not high season yet...); here, I caught the shadows of the pillars on the fence.
On the other side, there are gas bombs in the cage and shadows on the wall.
And the empty terrace of the same restaurant. When it's summer, they put reeds on the roof of the terrace for shade to make it more airy. This is not yet the case, but you can see the shadows of the frame.
That's all for today.
Thanks for your attention, and I hope you'll publish some of your shadow photos :)
