There are songs which are more than just songs, they are sermons.
Tunes that when listening to the lyrics open a new perspective to ones life, makes you see the world from someone's else eyes.
Songs which aren't made to belittle but enlighten.

I've found a certain fondness for these kind of songs and I've been listening to them a lot.
The artist which I've noticed who has done this the most is J.Cole...

Snow On Tha Bluff

This is a song which I've shared previously, yet like I've mentioned before, one could listen to the same song ten times and always learn something new. That's how every listen I give this track goes, everytime it's something new.

High for Hours

Now this is a new one, one that I actually recently added to my playlist.
This is the song that prompted this post and the one that made me think the most.
Cole tackles the revolution in this song, wondering what brings about change and what the change could do.

Would the world change if we remove the oppressors?

Or

Would it change if you were in power instead?

These questions have been troubling my mind especially now as my country is in a volatile state.
A nationwide protest is about to break out, they scream peaceful protest but due to what happened last time I'm not hopeful.
The demands for this protest is all about change. Forcing the government to bring the country back to how it was.
I, after reading the demands have seen it unreasonable, impossible and even laughable.
We watched quietly as the prices surged, we were tempted by meagre sums and voted folks who made the prices surge even higher, we were aware of what he'll do, yet the greed took the majority and he won.
Now we want out?
Fuel from #980 - #850 should drop back to #100 a litre?
Magic?

I look at shake my head, the government would ignore or more likely try tempting the public again with half way promises. The public would agree and the cycle continues..

Let.go.my.hand

This tune in particular touched me hard.
Jcole talks about life and what he has been through, going on to talk about what he would teach the younger generation, in particular his son.
It's truly a lovely song that has a lot of thinking points.

That's it for my #threetunestuesday entry for today.
Just some songs to help give you something to think about tonight😂

What did you think about the songs?

I'd like to hear in the comments...
