Who's In Charge?.. The Parents?.. The Teachers?.. or Both.

Today I was angry. The angriest I've been in quite a long period of time.
There are numerous things which can cause anger to a man but the most common are arguments.
Arguments between people who have different ideals. Different ideals which bare to different thoughts and beliefs, and these beliefs are as unshakable as the mind who holds it. Sadly, the most ignorant have the strongest minds.

For Some reason, I just love this picture.

In my fault, this wasn't an argument which a person and I shared personally, it's one that I noticed, and after reading the two sides for a while I chose one and aired my views.
The topic of this discourse was based on Educational Systems, If the Child's Success in Academics is dependent on the Teacher alone and no cooperation from the Parents.

I was appalled by how this was even an argument.
I thought it was common knowledge that the parents and teachers were a team in the education of a child. Yet, some felt that if the child was lacking, in no way is the parent demanded to help since that's what the teacher was paid to do.
It was a truly heated discussion, one in which I showed great restraint in not calling out my opponent on the dumbfuckery of it all because she was older than me. (Hopefully my angel in heaven is noting these good deeds).

Her argument centered purely on the fact that the teachers are paid to teach and she was reacting to my questions on the fly, stating and explaining different things that I'm sure sounded logical to her but like I said is all based on the ignorance and lack of perspective on the two points of views.

I for one was raised by a teacher, my mom has a school, and sometimes I volunteer there to teach.
I am still in school, university, have a younger lass in secondary (high)school, close cousins in primary (grade) school and I loved playing and sleeping on the mattresses of the kindergartners (until my mom scolded me on it😂)
Regardless, its no over estimation that I have seen and vividly remember all grades of learning (removing P.hd and Masters), and I have the knowledge of dealing with children as a teacher of Primary and Nursery.

At such I can say with sheer confidence. A child that has the academic support of both his teachers and parents would always fare better than one that's simply dumped on the teacher.
This is regarding the fact of the student being an A student or not. (because yes she did pull the "A student" card.)

I tried explaining my reasons out there where the argument was ensuing but found it foolish and highly aggravating.
I could literally write over 3,000 words on how her line of reasoning is more twisted than a line of spaghetti after being turned into noodles but I don't want to open the anger I felt earlier cause I do like my phone and can't risk breaking it in an act of rage.

The main truth, which can't be over emphasized is that a child, regardless of wether he/she is a fast or slow learner does need your help in his academics.
Sometimes you mustn't even do anything. Just reach over and look through his homework, ask him about his studies, he might just in turn ask you for help, if he's the kind that's close to you. And if he's like me, you might help him in turn remember the assignment that was given and prompt him to go do it.

This is a need because if you as a student believe the teachers are the sole responsibility in your childs education, I mean this in the kindest yet most realistic way possible. I pity your kid because the teacher who has to deal with him all on his own already has on an average 30 children in his care.
He's probably had more than three years of experience. He is most certainly not scared of giving your A Student or normal student an F because of lack of effort from the child at home, effort which you the parent could have done and/or aided the child in doing.

No she isn't 😂.
But you could have always traded your phone. Atlesst, you'll get your point across (even if it's on deaf ears😂)

Rat😂😂😂

I've been a teacher, a parent, and a student. I agree with you...teacher and parent are both necessary. I pity the student whose parent isn't interested.

Indeed...

The thought process really shook me.

It was like I saw someone who always wore shoes on his hands or something 🤣

The both of them should be interested in the well being of the child

If we call someone a teacher, it means that such person has accepted to look over a child
Also, it may be very unfortunate for the child if his parents sing interested

Sadly this is the day we live in. People that have kids are sometimes not the best parents and feel that other people should be taking care of their kids instead of them. We see it all the time and it’s really sad because the kid is the one who loses out in the end.

There is such a breakdown of the family unit and what the roles are for the parents it’s really a shame! I don’t have a good outlook for a lot of these kids!

It is indeed a shame...
