It’s been a while. I actuallynhave 3 posts that I meant to share but didn’t feel it was the right time.
Between New Years and some disaster like events in Japan and just being overhwelmed with all the New Yearsing, I almost forgot anout Hive for a week.
Not all that mich is going on but as usually, at the end of a year and the beginning of another there is always a chance for reflection.
I’ve stated for a long time that 2024 was going to be a big year and I stand by that.
It’a a halving year for Bitcoin and an election year in the US, and an Olympic year. Just by those metrics, we can expect a lot, but even without them, I’ve always had a kind of intuitive pull to this year.
Whenever I imagined my life transforming in a positive way, I always imagined it happening in this year, and whenever people talk about “societal collapse” I always imagine it happening this year.
I do not think societal collapse will be a true collapse, but a big accelaration of the process of decentralization. That means it will look pretty bad if we focus on certain things ans very good if we focus on others.
Personally, I’ve been experimenting.
I’ve never wanted to think of myself as a brand, but I’ve slowly come to realize that if i can find ways to integrate different aspects of myself, I can monetize a lot of my activity and get paid for doing the things I would do anyway. You see that here at Hive and I’ve been looking for more ways to expand upon that.
I realized that if you are consistent in your personality and have things to share that people want, you don’t need to think of yourself as a brand, you just need to do the things you want to do in a way that other people will notice.
So while some people may think of selfhelp4trolls or I+Everything (my music and fiction) or Untangled Knots (my podcast) as a brand, i don’t have to look at it that way. They are merely different names I use to share different things I am passionate about.
You could say my unaltered personality and behavior itself is my brand, but I only think of it that way in response to statements like those. I’m just doing my thing yo.
And if I do the “work” (that doesn’t hace to feel like work) and connect with the people I am meant to connect with, essentially I think I will be able to accomplish the same things I would be able to accomplish as a “brand” without too much scheming and strategizing and without everything feeling like I am working.
There are tiny bits where I do strategize but those are isolated to trying to achieve certain tasks.
A good example of this is trying to reach a certain number of impressions on Twitter. This has nothing to do with my art or my podcasts or my writing. The goal was simply to get to a million impressions and I did it in 5 days!

Now my goal at Twitter is to reach 1 million in a week spending 20-30 minutes on twitter a day, most of that getting to know people I might be interested in.
Meanwhile I’ve been experimenting with Switch as a tool for my teaching work and for my music. I’m not sure if it will work out but I had a great idea about how to monetize my language studies while making it a social event. I will share more soon.
I have also decided to get back to my podcast within the next month or two and to find an editor to split my future earnings with. I realize that I love having conversations that are worth sharing bur the editing process is too difficult to balance with everything else I do.
I hope that streaming becomes a way for me yo motivate myself to put more hours a day into each of my goals, whether its learning a language or making music.
If you are curious about what I am going to do over at twitch, you can follow my new channel
