Three Ladies Mackerel Fish Recipe 🍛🥫-Comfort Meal in Cambodia 🧑‍🍳

Have you ever been stumped about what to do with canned mackerel? Absolutely! It can be difficult as it already contains sauce and various ingredients, leaving you unsure of what to combine with it.

Greeting everyone, It's been a while. Today I wanted to share my traditional family recipe. When I had no idea what to cook for dinner, my mom suggested me to bring eggs, cucumbers, and canned mackerel fish from the cabinet. Guess what? It turned out to be stir-fried mackerel fish, which is one of the most popular family dishes in Cambodia!


For this cooking method, all you require are one can of Mackerel Fish, Two Cucumber, Two eggs, and a few more condiments.

Let's get started with our preparation by cutting the cucumbers into thick slices and organized them around the plate. About the Three Ladies Brand, I chose this mackerel fish brand because it's both reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. The fish contains tomato sauce too, but you can also try other brands.

Three Lady is a very popular Mackerel brand in Asia, particularly in Cambodia. My family and I recognize it by its symbol which is the three lady on the cans.

For this small amount of recipe, I used two duck eggs. Usually, I like to keep them out of the refrigerator so they don't get cold, and we don't have to wait till it melts. Alright, let's crack them into the small stone bowl - but don't mix!

Move to the next step, we chop the two cloves of garlic into very small pieces - as small as we can get them. For a more fragrant result, I'd suggest using more garlic.

Take the lid off the can - to do this more easily, I recommend you to use a can opener. Then, carefully twist it off from side to side. After that grab a small bowl and put all the mackerel into it, adding a tablespoon of soy sauce, half a teaspoon of garlic powder and half a tablespoon of sugar.

Once the garlic is browned, add the eggs to the hot skillet. Fry the eggs from back to front, making sure they are cooked through entirely.

Then, carefully pour the mackerel fish into the skillet and stir fry it. Since we have already added all of the condiments to the mackerel fish, no additional seasonings are needed - just add two tablespoons of water to help avoid burning.

When our mackerel fish is boiled, it's time to turn off the heat. Let's organize the plate with cucumbers around the edges, with eggs on top of cucumbers, and then finally adding the stir fry mackerel fish as the finishing touch.
