Happy Chinese New Year! The first hongbao (red packet) I got this year was from my boss. Chinese New Year also happened to be the same day as I share my three songs for three tune Tuesday. Today, I will share three songs that have a Chinese New year theme to spread that Chinese New Year mood. For those that celebrate, I hope you have a great fifteen days of Chinese New Year.
#1. 愛呀恭喜你 - 培永 林明禎 TOMATO + 神秘國寶巨星
This Chinese New Year song was released three weeks ago. If I'm not mistaken, this song is made from Malaysia. This song has been trending as well; the video already has 6.5 million views on YouTube. I'm sure those that are in countries that celebrate Chinese New Year have heard this song at least once. The song is super catchy and I also love how they add some comedic elements to the music video.
#2. Gong Xi Fa Cai - Higher Brothers
Now this song is a bit different than the usual super happy upbeat Chinese New Year songs. It's got a sick beat and rap. Something cool about this song is that it was used in a Valorant skin trailer.
#3. 恭喜恭喜 - 千金娃娃
I wouldn't say this is the best for last but this is one of the OG Chinese New Year songs. In this video, it's sang by these cute kids but I think there are other versions of this song as well. According to one of the comments on YouTube, this song was used to commemorate China's victory in the anti-Japanese war in 1945. I have no idea if that's true so if you know, hit up what you know in the comments below.
