Splinterlands - Guild Brawl Battle Report - April 11, 2022

Introduction

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well! I am back again with another @Splinterlands Guild Brawl Battle Report and Gameplay! I would like to share with you my battle summary and video gameplay in this post. This brawl is a special one because I have recently transferred to another guild which is the Immortal Gods V. I hope I can do better and improve every single day. I am really looking forward to grow my collection power through Gladius Cases and be guided by my amazing guildmates. Rawr! 👻

My Brawl Performance

For this brawl, I have chosen to fill the Novice Chaos Legion Fray. I got 12 points with 4 wins and 0 loss. I am also rewarded with 2,092 merits which is enough for me to buy another gladius case. To be honest, I got a little nervous because this is my first brawl in my new guild and not just any guild, this is Immortal Gods V. I wanted to do well on my first brawl and luckily, it worked out well! Thanks to my Quora!

Gladius Case Opening

These are the gladiator cards that I got from one gladius case which has a total of 570 collection power. Weeeee! I am currently building a silver level cap for the gladiator cards but it is still a long way to go.

Battle Summary and Analysis

Brawl Battle #1

Me VS DEFT2 of FutureDecBagHolders AAA - Battle Link
Result: Win

Pre-battle analysis

For this battle, I have decided to use Obsidian from the Earth Splinter as my summoner to buff my Quora and other magic-dealing monsters. With the unprotected and earthquake ruleset, I made the choice to use monsters that have sustain like the Goblin Psychic, Spirit Hoarder and especially Quora. My only flying monster here is the Regal Peryton and I was just hoping it could survive longer from attacks. Regardless, I have so much trust that Quora can just carry this battle.

Starting Round

My opponent used Quix along with three monsters that have flying-ability. This is slightly in my favor because I only have one monster that has range attack and I used mostly magic-dealing monsters even though my monsters will be affected by the earthquake, I just have to rely on the sustain. The minus one speed doesn't matter too much because my magic attacks won't miss.

Final Round

My Quora is just too much for my opponent because her high HP, healing and bloodlust is so much efficient in battle even being affected by the earthquake.

Lesson Learned

If ever I will encounter this battle with the same mana and ruleset again, I will still use Quora. This is because there are not much flying-ability monsters in the chaos legion that could be used and most of the monsters that have flying-ability have low HPs, low speed and low damage.

Brawl Battle #2

Me VS KODDOT of AD - Battle Link
Result: Win

Pre-battle analysis

For this battle, I was checking each splinter if there are other options aside from Obsidian that will take advantage of its buff with consideration of the battle's ruleset and mana cap. Upon checking, there are not much monster to choose from. Some of the cards that will be buffed from their main splinter summoner, have relatively low HP, will be very vulnerable to magic attack and will be hindered by the ruleset. I have reached my conclusion to still use the earth splinter for this battle due to the fact that there are a lot of low speed magic dealing monsters in earth splinter and there is a fog of war ruleset as well. I have my Legionnaire Alvar as my main tank because of its void armor which is very helpful in this scenario especially if my opponent also opted to use Obsidian. I added Mycelia for additional armor and Goblin Psychic for healing. Lastly, my favorite card, Quora, to just do Quora things.

Starting Round

My opponent also uses Obsidian here but I do have the advantage here. I have a tank that have high armor, void armor, tank heal from my Goblin Psychic, his gladius card could not attack from its position because of fog of war and I have Quora.

Final Round

My tank didn't even die from this battle. The sustain and additional armor from Queen Mycelia helps a lot.

Lesson Learned

If I encounter this battle again with the same mana cap and ruleset, I will still use this line-up but will switch the position of my Quora and Queen Mycelia.

Brawl Battle #3

Me VS NOVIE02 of Plan B - Battle Link
Result: Win

Pre-battle analysis

For this battle, a 12-mana cap battle with heavy hitters and rise of the commons ruleset, this is one of the battles that is very tricky and will require time to think about options. I just went with Kelya for the speed and armor and use 2 monsters that will not die in a single magic attack. I just think that before the battle, if he opted to use melee and range attackers from fire or death splinters, I have an extra armor for additional survivability while he does not have and if he opted to use magic attackers, my monsters will not die immediately while his monsters will be vulnerable from my Isgald Vorst.

Starting Round

My opponent uses Obsidian with only Goblin Psychic as a magic attaker. The mana cap really limits the potential and damage output of the the earth splinter.

Final Round

Two of my monsters still has max HPs.

Lesson Learned

If ever I will take this battle again, I will definitely switch the position of my Chaos Agent and Cruel Sethropod so that his Goblin Psychic will be dead immediately.

Brawl Battle #4

Me VS HARMLESS89 of Master Splinter - Battle Link
Result: Win

Pre-battle analysis

For this battle, I checked life splinter before submitting my team if there were cards that could contest the earth splinter, but there are just mostly low speed and low HPs monsters. Also, the dragon splinter in chaos legion is composed of legendary monsters that will not be used due to the ruleset. I just went with it again with Obsidian and my Quora.

Starting Round

My opponent has a decent tank, damager and also healing. His tank will not be affected with my tank's thorns. However, his gladius card will not be able to kill my Quora and his tank will not be able to sustain the damage from my monsters.

Final Round

Quora is just too good.

Lesson Learned

I really think choosing Obsidian and Quora is still the better option here because this card is so reliable. I will only not use this card in a healed out ruleset.

Guild Performance - Immortal Gods V

All frays were filled for this brawl and all battles were submitted. This guild is really competitive having a 100 percent brawls entered, 97 percent average fray fill rate and average brawl rank of being in first place. We were inspired to have a 60 percent win-rate or higher on brawls. The images below shows our individual and overall performances. I hope we could win our next brawl too!
