Visit To Tohana Head - A Dam Built On Bhakra Tributary

Tohana is the city of my maternal aunts and uncle.

And and whenever I travel there, I always ask my cousin to take me to this cool place - Tohana Head.

Tohana is located at the outskirts of Haryana state, touching the Punjab state border.

And it has this Dam, and the place where Bhakra river enters in Haryana.

It is also a tourist attraction.

You can find this place full of people in the evening, and full of street food vendors, content creators like photographers and reel creators etc.

It is kind of unusual but fascinating local attraction.

Brief Background & Bird's View On The Map

Tohana is also known as the land of canals. And all of them emerge out of this Dam.

The atmosphere of Tohana remains cooler than most other cities, because of the presence of these canals. And this Dam irrigates most of the agricultural land near and far.

Rice cultivation is very prominent around this area and it requires an enormous amount of water to grow. And hence this Dam is also a blessing in making this area suitable for growing Rice.

Here is the map I have marked that describes various spots at this place for a better understanding of this tour.

Connecting Road & The Main Canal

A road diverges along one of the canal from the main highway of the city leading to this Dam.

The connecting road is like 3-4 miles long and motorable with both two and four wheelers.

As soon as you turn your vehicle this way. You leave the city behind. And you'd find much lesser traffic here than the usual city roads and some peace.

Many huge trees and vegetation accompany you along the whole journey, diffusing a light and pleasing smell of plants and leaves through out the way.

As soon as you reach the Dam, you are greeted by the 2 bridges over the main canal. One of them is made up of iron. And the other one is the Main canal bridge, that marks the emergence of this primary canal.

I stepped on the iron bridge to capture this main canal.

The water appeared like foam because of the swirly chaos instilled by the fierce flow.

The sound of the flow was scary. And it felt like it could consume anything you'll throw in it. You can see in the images, how water waves are rising up and down and fighting with each other. Continously.

I threw a wooden stick in this mini cyclone, and it moved back and forth at least ten times before going forward. You can imagine the intensity of chaos.

The Truck House

To the right and before crossing the main canal bridge was this truck house.

It is established by the workers working there to support the essentials.

It had some utensils, LPG cylinder, Gas Stove and a worable setup to do the dishes. Basically a small kitchen and some other stuff for basic necessities and conveniences.

The Reservoir

Here you can see the Dam reservior. The water is so clean that it looks emerald green.

20220227_141332.jpg

This is the complete Dam with multiple gates splitting this one river into multiple canals.

And here in the opposite direction, there are two railway bridges built on the river. Stay with me and We will be going there and examining them closely. 😜

20220227_141418.jpg

This is the main bridge and looking down to its left, you can see the water coming out of the opened Dam gate with maximum force. I held my smartphone firmly while capturing it, lol.

These are the heavy iron doors hanged with pullies and metal ropes to increase and decrease the size of openings. And to simultaneously control the volume of water flowing into the canals.

20220227_141511.jpg

These are another two canals diverging out of the same main canal bridge. Some construction work is going here.

Sub Canals Bridge 1

Moving ahead to the next bridge is this another canal. It has relatively less flow and gate opeanings are narrow.

20220227_141652.jpg

Some people were fishing here with nets. And I captured them as well.

20220227_145249.jpg

20220227_145326.jpg

Luck hit these men after a couple of attempts and they managed to catch two.

20220227_145315.jpg

Beside this canal was a board with an announcement in my native language. That requests you to be careful and practice caution.

Sub Canals Bridge 2

Going further ahead, is this another bridge. And it accomodates the most chaotic and fear mongering flow. It might not seem like that in the stills here. But continous roar of the water waves 🌊 was spine chilling indeed.

And here is insane me. Going near the very edge to click these photos. 😅

Railway Bridges & Rest House

Moving away from the Dam, towards the rail bridges. There is this elevated subway along the reservior with a room, rest hut and old trees planted amidst it at various spots.

Adjacent to it goes the usual shallow road.

20220227_143556.jpg

Here's the sight of resvoir from the sub-way after turning around.

20220227_142712.jpg

20220227_142811.jpg

To the right of the main way is this rest house. With front full of tall trees and a garden adjacent to it. Looked magnificent and the garden is an awesome place to sit, lay down and relax.

20220227_143621.jpg

20220227_143651.jpg

And as you reach near you can feel the aura of these railway bridges. They looked usual from a distance, but the experience was uncanny and pumping. Walking on them especially. As I had never walked on them on foot, only in trains.

So this was my visit to this frightening and satisfying place. 🙂 Always feels nice to spend some time here and seep in some uniquely amazing environment science has bestowed us with.

The people doing V2K want me to believe it is this lady @battleaxe Investigate what she has been up to for 5 years. Its the next step to stopping this. Make her prove where she has been for 5 years or where she is now. She is involved deeply with @fyrstikken and his group. Her discord is Battleaxe#1003. I cant say she is the one directly doing the v2k. Make her prove it. They have tried to kill me and are still trying to kill me. I bet nobody does anything at all. Make @battleaxe prove it. I bet she wont. They want me to believe the v2k in me is being broadcasted from her location. @battleaxe what is your location? https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism
