Afternoon everyone….
I have shared many pictures from our Las Vegas community meet up. Today I will begin sharing what I personally picked up while in Las Vegas.
Prior to leaving for the meet up in Las Vegas, I already had a list of coins that I wanted to purchase. While it wasn’t going to be more than one or possibly two from that list. I already knew the coin and what a fair price was for the coin.
Since the gold price had risen over $100 in spot price in the last month. The only coin that I had on my list was removed, due to higher spot price and the premium on it. That coin was a one ounce gold Buffalo coin.
Don’t get me wrong, I did look and ask prices on them. But the lowest price gold Buffalo at the show was over $2,200. That’s not a good price.
So I walked the entire show dealer by dealer looking at my other two choices. One was a graded $10 gold Indian coin, the other a graded $10 Liberty gold coin.
Several dealers had fair prices on both coins. Now it was time to decide which one I was going to buy.
I ended up with this PCGS graded MS64 1926 $10 Gold Indian coin. While I already own two of these, my highest grade is an MS62, so I went for a nicer example.
These coins are highly collectible and command full retail, so it’s harder to find any deals. While I paid less than retail by $150-$200. I still paid quite a bit for this coin.
But in my opinion it was worth it.
What do you think…
