This is from Hawaii.
It is a conch trumpet!
A conch shell trumpet, also known as a conque or seashell horn, is a wind instrument made from the shell of a sea snail. The natural conical bore of the shell is used to produce musical tones when air is blown into it.
Sometimes, I use it during get-togethers at home to indicate to my friends that lunch or dinner is served!
1975 Bahamas Conch $1Silver Proof
This coin really captures the beauty of a conch, which is why I appreciate it so much! Additionally, the design is good. Take note of the fish in the backdrop to indicate that it is found underwater. All in all, it is simply gorgeous.!!
The reverse features the coat of arms of the Bahamas.
A marlin and flamingo support the shield. The diverse marine life of the island chain is symbolized by the conch shell that sits atop the helmet. Below the helm is a ship that is said to be Christopher Columbus's Santa María, sailing under the sun. The national motto is located at the bottom, and the animals supporting the shield are the national animals. The flamingo is found on land, and the marlin is found on the water, demonstrating the islands' topography.
It's quite lovely!
