On my free time, I browse through different coin dealer's websites, and sometimes Ebay, for coins to buy, or wish to buy.
This coin was advertised as 1982 Mexico 1 oz Onza Silver Libertad BU .999 Pure Plata Pura, 1st Year Mintage.
The Silver Libertad, given its quality, style, and background,
make them among the most well-liked silver coins. It is not surprising that silver Libertad are among the priciest silver pieces available on the market given their restricted mintages and irregular release dates.
Silver Libertad has a premium price that is comparable to numismatic coin premiums and even higher than that of silver Eagles.
Given that silver Libertads are a limited-edition, highly sought-after coin, it is reasonable to assume that their market value will surpass that of others.
1982 Mexico Libertad, 1st Year Issue
Struck by the Casa de Moneda de Mexico (Mexican Mint), there was just a 1 oz bullion of the Silver Libertad available when it was first introduced in 1982.
The design on the Mexican Silver Libertad coins was first used on the Mexican $50 Gold Centenario coin, which was in circulation from the 1920s to the 1950s.
Mexico's centenary anniversary of the beginning of its War of Independence served as the inspiration for the design elements, such as Winged Victory and the notable twin volcanoes.
Winged Victory is shown facing forward on the coin's obverse side. A monument in Mexico City honoring the Angel of Independence was built in the 1920s. The angel was a pivotal figure for the Mexican people throughout the War of Independence. The twin volcanoes, Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl, is depicted in the background.
The edge of the coin is lettered with INDEPENDECIA Y LIBERTAD which translated in English as Independence and Liberty.
On the back is a large image of Mexico's coat of arms. It shows a bald eagle fighting a serpent from atop a cactus perch. The word "Estados Unidos Mexicanos," which translates to "United Mexican States," is written above and a wreath at the bottom of the official national seal of the country.
Here is the ping test for the coin.
A comparable coin is priced at the amount below 👇! I did not pay that much for my coin.
I am always pleased to add the 1st year issue 1982 Mexico Libertad, which contains 1 oz of .999 pure silver, to my stack!
