There are a few coins that I collect. One of which is the 1st year issue of the Libertad.
So when Intaglio Mint came up with their Libertad Tribute (in other words, Libertad Silver Round), I immediately purchased it.
The Libertad Tribute is beautiful. Libertad is one of my favorites, and this homage is stunning! I am really happy I got one of each.
The image is takes from the obverse of Un Peso of Years 1920-1945 which depicts the Mexican coat of arms: a Mexican golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus devouring a rattlesnake. The eagle, cactus and snake are surrounded by a holm oak (encina) branch on one side and a laurel branch on the other. 1
LIBERTAD TRIBUTE
Contains 1 oz. Troy of .999 Fine Silver
- Obverse: An image of Winged Victory. The full-length figure of the angel of independence shows the lady striding forward with her wings spread wide, a wreath crown held aloft in her right hand, and the broken chains of colonialism in her left hand. Engravings include the metal content, and purity.
- Reverse: A depiction of the National seal of Mexico. The coat of arms for the nation depicts a bald eagle locked in battle with a serpent. Indicative of the nation’s struggle for independence against Spain, the bald eagle is battling a serpent from its perch.

I've been a consistent customer of Limited Mintage/Intalgio for a number of years, and I own many of their historical replica rounds. It's possible that this Libertad round is among the most visually appealing that they have produced thus far, along with the Peace Dollar Tribute. It has flawless surfaces and is incredibly well-made. It is really exquisite silver.
