Lately, I have been a frequent visitor of Kaiser Permanente. Yes, I have been seeing my doctor, who recommended that I see a specialist, which I am. I have been through a battery of laboratory tests and ultrasounds, and the verdict is that I will need surgery!
These photos are from the garden of Kaiser Permanente.
These are daylilies! It is a perennial that requires very little care. It almost never gets sick, is pest-free, resistant to drought, and doesn't care what kind of soil it grows in. The flower also has a long blooming duration!
Daylilies don't need to be watered because they are naturally resistant and tolerant to drought. A normal rainfall is enough. But in California, where there are dry spells, a little water would mean more blooms in return.
Deadheading is not necessary, the way roses need it. But you can stimulate more flowering by removing spent blooms. And when you find their blossoms fading, you can just simply cut them off. Neither does it require fertilization, as long as the soil is reasonably fertile!
You can cut a daylily back to the ground entirely in the fall, or at not at all, after the all flowers have bloomed. It will just turn brown and stay standing, that is, if you don't clip it back.
No... not in a negative way. Not that I am opposed to something or refusing to agree or obey 1. Or not wanting to accept something, especially changes or new ideas 2.
