An happy Wednesday to you all!
After the Easter Day lunch wit my mom, me and my hubby @paolobeneforti spent around an hour walking along the side of the small river close to my home. I like to walk there because there are a lot of birds and ducks too. Usually there are a lot of common moorhens (Gallinula chloropus) and 3 couple of mallards (Anas platyrhynchos), but that day there was a special guest I've never seen there before: a female Carolina duck (Aix sponsa)!
I was intrigued by her and so I took some pics and this morning I decided to paint something on my sketchbook inspired by her:
It's not similar to the real duck, but I like to paint a duck with the white spot on the eyes in my own illustrative style and so I did it.

Isn't she lovely? ^_^
I think I'll paint her on a larger size and close to her real look, stay tuned!
It's an acrylic painting (and white ink) on 110 gsm paper of a page in my small sketchbook and, like I use to do for you, I took some pics while I was painted her so you can see the process too:
