Hello dear friends,
In today's post, I would like to share with you the wonderful walk I had the opportunity to take yesterday in the beautiful city of Lucca, located in Tuscany. Lucca holds a very special meaning for me and is a city to which I am deeply connected. Fortunately, I have the chance to visit it often for work reasons. During this visit, I was able to admire its beauty and immerse myself in the unique atmosphere that characterizes this charming city.
Naturally, Lucca is known for its rich history and well-preserved medieval architecture, with its ancient walls surrounding the historic center. But it is also famous worldwide because it is the birthplace of the renowned composer Puccini. Puccini's birth home is now a museum dedicated to the talented musician, and this feature makes it even more celebrated. Visitors flock from all over the world to admire the beauty of the city and immerse themselves in the musical legacy left by Puccini.
I was pleased to observe the crowd of tourists filling the city, as well as the presence of numerous school groups speaking languages other than Italian. Undoubtedly, Lucca is a city worth visiting during a vacation in Tuscany, as it offers a fascinating blend of history, culture, architecture, and cuisine. This combination makes the city an interesting destination for those who wish to immerse themselves in the authentic atmosphere of Tuscany.
I did not have the opportunity to fully taste the Lucchese cuisine, although I have been told that it is renowned for its traditional dishes such as spelt soup, potato pie, and mushroom soup. Personally, I am not a big fan of soups. In the vicinity of Lucca, there are numerous hills and vineyards where fine wines are produced, creating a delightful atmosphere.
From my point of view, I would like to share the sensations that this city evokes in me. It is a welcoming and pleasant place to visit. The most beautiful aspect, in my opinion, is the calm and relaxed atmosphere that prevails here. The beauty of the historical sites and the kindness of its inhabitants make Lucca a charming place. Whether you are interested in art, architecture, music, or cuisine, Lucca will captivate you with its unique charm.
Indeed, I captured some art workshops present in the city, and in my opinion, it is always worth visiting them. From there, you can truly perceive that Lucca is a city that attracts artists from all over the world.
Also beautiful is Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, which preserves the elliptical shape of the ancient amphitheater and where you can find numerous bars and restaurants. There, you can try the Lucchese cuisine or enjoy a good aperitivo.
In the past, Lucca enjoyed a renowned tradition in the production of exquisite leather goods. It was, in fact, filled with artisanal workshops that have unfortunately become fewer over time. These workshops sold handcrafted bags, belts, and other leather products, highly appreciated for their quality and craftsmanship. Throughout the year, Lucca hosts numerous cultural events and festivals, but the most famous of all is undoubtedly Lucca Comics and Games, one of the world's most important comic and gaming fairs, attracting enthusiasts from all over. Furthermore, I have always found Lucca to be a very bicycle-friendly place, especially for cycling enthusiasts. The city is filled with bike paths that allow for a pleasant exploration. Among the recommended experiences is renting a bicycle and enjoying a pleasant ride along the historic walls or through the city streets.
In short, I hope to have expressed myself in the best possible way regarding Lucca, a Tuscan city that definitely deserves a visit. Despite being smaller compared to other cities like Florence or Pisa, it is still worth exploring as it always offers something beautiful to see. I want to thank you for reading and I look forward to seeing you soon in my next post. Let's stay in touch!
