Luton vs Liverpool - this is generally not a match I would be very interested writing about. I would definitely watch it. This is one of those games where you just sit back and relax, watch the game and expect Liverpool to easily win in the end. But somehow I got myself into some horribly bad trades and my entire capital has taken a massive, massive hit. I am too anxious to keep watching the charts at the moment waiting for it recover. It is giving me panic attack like symptoms every couple of minutes and I needed to take my mind off things.
What better way to do that than to write for my blog. And so, here I am - writing my watch along thoughts of a game I don't really expect much from to begin with. Just a distraction, nothing else. Hopefully Liverpool doesn't disappoint me like my trades and I am able to quickly fall asleep and not have to worry about my lost money through the depths of the night!
Lineup
Right then. Let's talk football shall we!
The only bit of surprise with the lineup is Joe Gomez starting as a Left back ahead of Kostas Tsimikas. Don't think it is another injury issue as Tsimikas is among the subs. Wonder what Jurgen Klopp has got cooking. The midfield trio of Alexis McAllister, Dominik Szboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch is really starting to take shape and assert dominance. I think Liverpool right now have one of the most exciting midfield to watch not just in the premier league, but in world football. It's a shame we are not in the Champions League.
Up front we have Diogo Jota starting alongside Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez die to the continued absence of Luis Diaz due to his family emergency.
Start!
The camera angle looks funny. It's like watching non professional football.
And by my comment above about camera angles, you understand how much I need my mind off the trading data right now!
I really like this Liverpool away kit, might get myself one! I wasn't a big fan of it at first sight, but as I see it more, it is slowly growing on me.
Luton town are playing with a lot of heart here, gotta give them that!
Ibou KOnate made a powerful run from the edge of the liverpool defense to the edge of the luton defense. Just couldn't get the final pass right.
An absolutely gorgeous pass from Trent Alexander Arnold to Darwin Nunez and he really should have scored there. Ended up just hitting the post.
And at the other end, Luton Town squander a big opportunity. They are not going to get too many opportunities like that, they should really be making those count.
Darwin Nunez tries to bend one to the bottom left corner from outside the box, and the keeper makes a save. It's all happening here!
Big chance for salah from Szoboszlai's free kick and he somwhow skies it! We might rue these early missed chances.
Super Save to deny Diogo Jota! I can not fathom how we are still not leading here!
Half Time, 0-0!
Luton lucky to still be level. I wonder whether these missed chances will come back to haunt us. We really should not be dropping points now with City winning yesterday.
No changes at half time for either team.
The game getting very erratic for Liverpool, we really need to get this done and dusted as quickly as we can.
Liverpool's frustration grows as the scores stay level, Luton are now growing in confidence. And somehow Liverpool survive! Their biggest moment of the game. Absolute shambles at the back for Liverpool.
Kostas Tsimikas coming on for Joe Gomez and Gakpo comes on for Jota. Expected changes. Surprisingly Harvey Elliot comes on for Szoboszlai. Interesting change this. Elliot is great, but not sure taking Szoboszlai was the right choice.
Elliot almost assisted Gakpo, but the delivery was just a fraction behind him.
UNBELIEVEABLE! How has darwin nunez skied that one! Open net that, Come on!
Liverpool should have had a penalty there. Man City was given a penalty against Man united for much much less. The premier league is just corrupted and Man City are winning literally by cheating.
Gravenberch shoots from outside the box and a good save by the Luton Keeper.
And out of nowhere Luton town Lead 1-0!
The first half misses are really coming back to bite liverpool now!
Luis Diaz comes on for Gravenberch. It's all hands on deck situation for liverpool. Those Darwin Nunez misses are really stinging right now! Liverpool throwing everything for an equalizer, but the finishing touch has been poor.
LUIS DIAZ finds the equalizer deep in to the added time!
For all the turmoil in his personal life, and emotional goal for Diaz!
Can liverpool push on for a surprise winner?!
No they can't, it ends 1-1!
Dropping points at Luton town, I guess that's the end of Liverpool's title challenge this season.
See you next year lads!
