We went to check out some fishing gear for my visiting brother-in-law, a fly-fishing aficionado, at one of the bigger Bass Pro Shops in California.
What greeted me was a most stunning display of the outdoors inside the store! There were giant trees, a wooden bridge over running water, life-size figures of wildlife, brown bears and horned animals atop rocks and mountains as well as giant bass and other fish in water.
It felt like we were in commune with nature and it was following us around as we circled through gear after gear not just for fishing, but also for camping, hunting, and whatever matching wear that goes with it.
Adjacent to the store was a bar and restaurant, in the middle of which sits a giant aquarium, filled with fishes prancing around corals. We had the scrumptious mahi-mahi fish tacos here for lunch.
This was one fine day for the books; visiting the great outdoors inside the confines of a big box store. Thanks for the read!
