Anyone who has even once looked at advertising materials about vacations in Croatia has definitely seen photos of this amazing island, because it is simply the heart of the country and an important center of tourist life. Today I will show you incredible views of the island of Krk, which I managed to visit once during the summer vacation.
Krk is the largest island of the Adriatic Sea, but the population is only 17 thousand people. The island has a rather ancient history, the first mentions of it date back to the 1st century BC. There are cities and settlements of various sizes and all of them deserve your attention for their nature and architecture.
The largest city on the island is Krk, and it is also the most interesting in terms of architecture. There is the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary built in the 12th century, the so-called Roman Forum - in fact the center of the city with the town hall and a popular place for both tourists and local residents, and there are also large city walls that served as additional protection of the city from enemies attacks.
In general, you can talk about this island for a long time, but it is better to come somewhere once a week and see for yourself that it is practically a paradise on earth. It is very diverse, both in terms of architecture and nature. He simply has no equal in terms of his beauty. There are dense forests, huge rocks, vineyards and olive fields, while the blue sea and sand and pebble fields fit perfectly into the landscape and make your eyes enjoy the beauty around.
The best time to visit the island is from June to September. Then the air temperature reaches 25-30 degrees, and the water temperature is 19-26 degrees on average. However, it all depends on your preferences. If you just want to see the beauty of the island, I advise you to go in the off-season, then there are much fewer people. And if you want to spend your vacation right on the shore, then you will have to book places in advance, because the demand is simply crazy.
