So I was sitting up in a bus returning from my graduation over the weekend and I remembered to make the post. This time, no excuses. I had to be at work that same morning cause I had exhausted the number of off-days I was given.
I got home around 5:15 AM and the security guy was asleep. I kept hitting the door but nothing. I had to call my cousin who no longer lives with us to call the guy and wake him up.
When I got in and got to our door, I called both my sister’s over 10 times and no one answered. Both of them had their phones on silence. And it’s not like they didn’t know I would be coming. Luckily, the window to my room was open so I kept shouting my kid sister’s name till she woke up.
I was ready at 6:10 and I was surprised I could get ready so quickly. I made it to the bus stop and immediately got in a car.
I got to work quite early and I was surprised. On a normal day, I would probably get there after 8.
It’s like an unspoken rule to always wear high heels shoes so I usually put it in my bag and wear slippers till I get there.
So I went to the washroom to change that before I get into the building.
I got to my floor and the place was quite empty. I was excited that I made it to work this early.
I got to my desk, asked my colleague what I’ve missed and decided to learn about some software that we would soon be using.
My boss that gave me the days off didn’t come to work that day. They have a schedule for working at the office and working from home.
I know he comes to work on Wednesdays and that’s the only reason I came. Else I would have just stay home to sleep. I later found out he was sick.
Without him around, I really didn’t have anything to do. We were yet to be assigned to specific projects so we mostly just hang around throughout the day.
Throughout the day, I was dozing off cause I was really tired from the journey and all that stress of the graduation process.
I kept fighting this sleep by trying to engage in anything on my phone or laptop.
Finally, it was time for my favorite time of the day: Lunch.
We usually have an online form at the end of the week where we make our food choices for the week so there’s always something to look forward to.
Today happened to be my favorite. I quickly sat down and got into it. And then waited a while for the snack.
At 4 PM, we had a meeting with the head of our department: Business and Commercial bank. I was assigned to the Business Enablement unit.
Working at this side of a bank is quite interesting. I always thought a bank was all about going to a branch and making a transaction. But at my unit, we offer several other services without getting in contact with the clients.
The meeting lasted just the right time and it was 5 PM.
Quickly made my way again to the roadside to get a car back home.
When I start doing exciting things, I will make another post to explain what really goes on.
