I came across a captivating Instagram post last week that had my full attention for an entire week.
The post was a video of a man speaking and he said;
"My grandfather walked ten miles to work everyday.
My father walked five, I'm driving a Cadillac, my son is in a Mercedes, my grandson will be in a Ferrari. But he said my great grandson will be walking again.
So I asked him why is that?
He said to me tough times create strong men. Strong men create easy times, easy times create weak men, weak men create tough times.
He said many will not understand, but you have to raise warriors.”
It made me contemplate how I can raise a generation of resilient individuals.
This made me reflect on my upbringing and how I made a promise to myself that I would create a more comfortable life for my children and make some changes from the way I was raised. However, I also wondered how these easy times could potentially become a problem.
I am a strong believer in generational wealth and success. I realised I was looking at this post in only the wealth way(financial prosperity) and It's not just about financial prosperity, but also about passing down values, knowledge, and opportunities. By finding a balance between providing a comfortable life and instilling the importance of hard work, we can equip our children with the tools they need to thrive in any situation and even after I create an easy time they will never go back to a tough time.
