The last two days have been filled with so much joy and laughter for me. Days like the ones that just passed make me happy to be alive.
Long ago, in another life, I held parties at my house. When parties were not planned, people knew if they were driving by to stop if they had the time. Most would find me outside next to my colossal maple tree, enjoying the fresh air while I knitted to my heart's content.
Those days are long gone. My life has taken a different path than the one I was sure was the correct one. People stopped coming by my house to visit. People stopped calling, and I did too. My life became too hard to plan when I never knew if I would be well enough to follow thru.
I do not really blame the friends I had. They wanted answers I didn't have.

As the years moved on, my health kept me inside more and more. It was not a change I wanted but one my body needed. Over time I became used to being alone a lot during the day.
I talk to many people on Hive daily, but typing for twenty minutes is very different from someone talking to you face-to-face. Somedays, I am just too tired to type. On those days, my friends are willing to voice with me, and I am always thankful for that!
If I get tired, which is happening more often, I tell my friends 'Good Bye!" They know they will hear back from me when I have energy.
Over the past two days, @Grindan came to visit. She flew into town yesterday and will be here until Monday. It feels good to laugh so much each day.
One of the things Grindan had said to me was how she didn't know how to do girlie things with her long beautiful hair. Most who know me know I love playing with makeup and hair. It's the enjoyable part about being a girl. You get to play dress up your whole life, and no one thinks it's weird.
After Grindan went to sleep last night and the dishwasher was running, I watched some hair and makeup tutorials for punk-themed ideas on YouTube. I noted some cool ones I found and went off early to bed.
Once Grindan and I were awake simultaneously, we watched a few videos. I didn't have the twenty tiny rubber bands most of the hairstyles needed. We kept looking until we found a cool one that should work with what we both had to use for hairstyles.
We had many laughs trying to figure out how to do the hairstyle. At one point, my being three inches shorter than Grindan made the whole process way too funny. She had to get on her knees so I could see the top of her head. Ultimately, we both loved how her hair turned out, and I wanted to share how beautiful she looked.
Being around someone all day has been tiring, but I would not change these days for anything. When you spend time with someone when it gets quiet, you do not need to fill the air with noise. You know you are with a true friend. Life doesn't get any better than that!
Help someone smile today. It can not hurt you.
