It is 2:22 am as I light my cigarette and settle down to write a love letter and post it on Hive. My chores are finally done. I am squeaky clean in my PJs, typing on my purple glowing keyboard. It is finally time to have some fun!
The amazing @Grindan came up with the idea that you should remember all of the people you love on Valentine's day. You can find out more about the contest here: Love Letters on Hive, a Contest where Everyone Wins!.
Being on the Blockchain as long as I have, where the heck do I start? I am thankful and love so many around these parts that the beginning will have to do.
@Ecoinstant, @Ecoinstante, and me when they lost me at an airport. 😹
Two exceptional people fall into this category. @Ecoinstant for telling me about the Blockchain and @Simgirl, whom I sent in my steed hoping she would help Ecoinstant to forget he wanted me to blog. I love those two for many reasons, but most of all because they made me come here.
@Ecoinstant is now all over the chain. He has his own tokens and is the president of DCity, which makes me First Mom, of course. I only understand a little of what he writes, but I love his posts about my stunning daughter-in-law @Ecoinstane and their home. Ecoinstane takes beautiful photographs of birds and plants and posts them in Spanish if you ever care to take a look. Those two hold my heart in their hands.
@Simgirl has turned into an outstanding painter. You can go to her blog and watch the videos she has made of her process. She has come so far and very fast. I hope she finds the same joy as me when making art. A little-known fact is that Simgirl made me do many things back in the day. One such thing was we had a radio show on MSP WAVES. For two hours each week, we would have a lot of fun discussing all kinds of things. Below is one of the last episodes we did.
Ecoinstant went one way on the Blockchain and Simgirl another. Lucky for me, I found @mariannewest. We were in a secret backroom where no one talked, and I did not know anyone. MarianneWest devised an idea to make a daily challenge on the Blockchain called #Freewrite.
I looked at the post and asked MarianneWest if she was correct about the rules she had posted! The rules stated that your story did not have to be perfect! I could do that! I had lots and lots of unperfect stories in my head! I will always love her to the moon and beyond for the gift she has given me so long ago. Plus, I got to meet her in person, and she is the sweetest lady you will ever want to meet!
Day 1944: 5 Minute Freewrite: Friday - Prompt: laundry day
The Freewriters group started out small. Yet there were a few of us that tried to post every day. @Brisby and @Omra-Sky are two of those original writers I got to meet. I thought they were too cool for me. I was pretty sure they made fun of my writing every time they had to read one of my posts. In the end, I didn't care if they did or didn't because those two offered encouragement in each of my posts. I love them both for that!
Years later, and after many more conversations, my love for my little brother and Sister has grown to Mars and back. I wish BOTH of them would start writing and posting again! But the best part! I got to meet Brisby in person!! She is so beautiful and full of life. You want to make the world around her a better place. I am so lucky to have Brisby in my life!
The Freewriter Lore
The Old Steemians Home: The Video (Narrated by @snook) Written by Omra-Sky
Now that I had more confidence in myself, I knew it was time to find a group to belong to. There were so many Discords on the Blockchain, and each had its own rules. I am only good with following rules if they are 'To be nice.' Nice, I can do that. Friendly, I, too, can do that. But if I have to read six pages of rules to belong to any group, that group is not for me!
I then saw a post that explained a blockchain group called @TheAlliance. It was family oriented. Meaning they wanted to get to know YOU as a person. I loved that idea. I could live with that idea.
I searched out @Saffisara, The Queen of the Castle, whom I had only interacted with a few times. She was so sweet to me, and I fell in love with the beautiful Swedish soul that is Saffi. She read over the post I had written and said it was beautiful. She told me to post it and not to worry. There would be a place for me in The Alliance. I will always love her for taking the time for someone she didn't know and offering encouragement when I needed it most. She is the younger sister I never had.
Once I made it into The Alliance, I was in the Playground room. The problem was I needed someone to play with, but I was the only one in the room. Being me, I wrote silly things on the walls of the playground and made up all kinds of stories until I started to get claustrophobic.
How that can happen when you are sitting in your own home alone in a Discord room, feeling like you are being watched, is beyond me, but it happened. So I did what I felt was right then and wrote @EngineWitty, the founder and King of the castle, a letter and sent it off.
That was the night Enginewitty and I indeed became family. Long story short, we laughed and cried. I would do anything for him if it wasn't against the law. He is Engine. He is quirky, funny, punny, and loves boobs.... what can you say but he is honest about his boob love. He also respects me for everything I stand for.
Someday when Engine and my Hubby meet, it will be a fascinating conversation to watch. LOL, Engine is the best protective brother a girl could ask for. I love him so much!
@Enginewitty, me, and @Jayna
Once through the playground doors and into the castle's ballroom, I met another brother from a different Mother, @InTheNow. I depend on InTheNow to be the level-headed one. He is sometimes too level-headed, and I want to kick him under the table. He makes me smile and shine.
I want to take all the ugliness away so his world is only filled with a world-class kitchen so he can be happy and bake all day. He is a good man that excepted me just as I am, weirdness and all, and never once made me embarrassed when I tried something and failed. Got to love a brother like that!
@Inthenow, @Simgirl, and I entering a contest to win T-shirts on the Blockchain!
The last person I will write about tonight is my knight in shining armor, @GuiltyParties. He is the fixer of things when I need it most. He is the secret keeper of all the dumb things I have done while on the Blockchain. His real name is as sweet as candy, and so is he... Unless you get on his wrong side. Then I would run away as fast as I could.
He has a heart that is ten miles wide. He is always there with a helping hand. My Hive crush would have to go to the man no one has seen or ever heard his voice. He knows I love him and his quirky ways. But like all the people I love, he spends his time helping those in need. He works so hard in the background of Hive, never asking for thanks.
He used to write excellent posts that made me laugh for days. He is a wonderful Dad to his two daughters and wants them to have a good life and education. He is a proud Dad, and I love hearing the stories about his daughters.
@GuiltyParties favorite photograph.
It is now 4:30 am. This is as good a place to stop as any. What I hope you can see when reading this is not the names and who they are but when we met.
Most of the people that hold my heart and love on Hive were the ones that were there from the beginning. We all stuck together and held each other up. None of us got here alone. We found a group of like-minded people and gave each other a one-cent vote. Dreaming of the days, we would be able to help each other out more.
There was never an easy button on the Blockchain. We had each other and built up trust over the years as we talked and became closer. It might seem far away at times, but five-plus years of blogging IS a long time.
Just enjoy the ride and make some lifelong friends along the way.
ps. This covers the first six months I was on the blockchain. I love so many people, but the next part about #PYPT would take another 2000 words. LOLL Maybe someday there will be a part two!!
Help someone smile today. It can not hurt you.
