Let it Out! Turn it Up!

Sometimes, the best thing you can do is stick a set of headphones on, crank the sound up to eleven, and sit back and enjoy the ride your senses will take you on.

The world can be a harsh place at times in our lives. You can feel overwhelmed with all the negative energy bombarding you every day. You can feel stuck in these feelings. You can dig a deep black hole you can not get out.

You may turn to positive quotes to help give yourself hope. You repeat those quotes as a mantra to make it through the darkest hours of the night. When maybe, just maybe, a great song can help lighten your load.

You learn from the song that you are not alone thinking that this world can be harsh. You find out from the first sounds of the electric guitar that you can not sit still as you are transported to another world where light and sound beat in your heart and soul.

You slowly come alive. Your fingers start tapping of their own accord as the music seeps in. You find yourself turning your headset up as you are now playing air drums along to the beat.

You are left wanting more. More realness in your soul.

The voice. The beat. You are taken away. Now both arms are moving along with your head bobbing. Back in the warp, you go to when life was more straightforward. You feel the breeze of the Autumn air while packed shoulder to shoulder with jumping, screaming, and singing people you have never met.

A man hangs upside down in a tree, playing air drums as he sways in the breeze. The smell of herbs right under your nose as you take and pass it on.

You are now surrounded by family. The best kind there is. You know no one around you, but all is forgiven as the music plays deep into your body and you sway.

A mile-wide smile bursts forth on the first note. You can not sit anymore. You jump up with your ass already shaking to the beat of the last toon for the night. You can not sit still as the words come alive in your head and memories flood.

You were born at a time when having a large bottom was not a good thing in most people's eyes. Once again, music made you feel not so alone. It also started others looking at you differently and wondering what you might know.

Now it was your turn to laugh and sing along. You had a secret and were not telling. It showed in your eyes and laughed for all to see. The confusion of others was a sight to see.

Sometimes, it works in your favor to keep clicking on songs until you find one that makes your soul wake up and notice. Follow that path, and keep searching. Soft songs you might love might not be what you need today.

Do not be afraid to let the beast out to play.

In Memoriam

Writing this post was just what I needed and didn't know. For the last four days, I have been numb. A Special 'Thank YOU' to @Ablaze for making #threetunetuesday. All it takes is a drop to spread love without even knowing it.

I woke up Sunday Morning to the news that my Father in Law passed away at 3:00 AM. He is one of the kindest, gentlest souls you could ever meet. He welcomed my son and me into the family without blinking an eye.

He was there for me whenever I needed anything. He would drop what he was doing and build whatever crazy doohicky I required at the time.

We shared a love for Kentucky Fried chicken. It became our special lunch date about every other month. When he handed me the bag of food, it always felt like we were doing something naughty by going there for lunch.

This Sunday is the funeral, and it will be a very long and hard day for my family and me. He was one of those people that brought joy and happiness to others. You wanted to protect him at all costs.

He is now united with his wife. When he passed, he talked about Beverly like she had just passed days ago when, in truth, she had now been gone over ten years. I know he is happiest where he is now at. Yet he will always, always be missed.

Finding soft, beautiful music so I could write an easy post turned into finding old memories of happier times. God works in funny ways sometimes to help you through the tough times when you need it most.

Always follow your instincts. You will be surprised where it leads you.

Help someone smile today. It can not hurt you.

Amen sister!

Those songs and the journey you brought us on was a joy to join you on, I'm a fan of all of the songs but especially Welcome to the Jungle and Fat Bottomed Girls. Pure gold...

I am so sorry to hear about your Father-in-law who sounded like such a nice man, may he rest in peace upstairs with Beverly - God rest them both.

I am saddened to hear of the loss of your father-in-law. 😢 I wish you strength and peace in the coming days. 💜

Thank you Kitty!!

I am going to need that extra strength.

HUGS!
