What has Hive ever done for me? That is a loaded question with many ways I could answer. Today we will look at how Hive got me started playing The Sims 4. Looking back, it is an interesting tale.
The Sims 4 came out on September 2, 2014. My wonderful friend @Simgirl talked me into buying the game. We had been playing a game called Rift at the time. In Rift, you could decorate your home. I would spend hours and hours decorating and fishing for free decorations for my new home away from home.
When I required more in-game coins to buy decorating items, I would go out and kill monsters and do quests to get better armor so I could fish in better places. We had a ton of fun together playing Rift. I also trusted Simgirl to know what I liked and pre-purchased The Sims 4.
September 2, 2014, came. I downloaded the game. I had never played any of the Sim's other games, so I had no idea what I was getting into. It turns out I lasted about 20 minutes inside the game. I was lost and confused. I didn't get how to play the game. I had no idea what to do or how to do it.
On September 25, 2017, I opened up an account on the Blockchain. I started out making posts about playing Hearthstone. Simgirl was already on the Blockchain for a few weeks. She was posting tutorials on how to play The Sims 4.
Like a good friend, I would read each of Simgirls posts on the Sims 4 she made. The way she explained the game sounded so easy to play. She made me wonder once again about a game that was already two years old that I owned and had played for about thirty minutes tops.
Using her posts as references, I tried The Sims 4 once again. I have not stopped playing it since.
Once I understood how to play The Sims 4, there was no stopping me. I love to create beautiful worlds that I want to be in. Or just places filled with happy colors that make me smile just to look at. Sims 4 lets me do all that and more.
In sharing my love of the game one day, The Sims 4 had a promotion where if you downloaded the base game, it was yours to own! I will admit I told all my friends about the deal going on. I was excited to share my love of the game just as Simgirl had done with me.

This brings us to the present day. @InTheNow has been playing the Sims 4 for a while now. He doesn't build much, but he plays each expansion through. He finds all the ins and outs and secrets of each new pack he purchases.
On the other hand, I go in and make a new Sim and build them a new house. This usually takes me a week. Yes, I do want it perfect for my Sims!

The last pack released was called The Sims 4: High School Years. The objects for building new homes in the pack were bright and cheery. I could not wait to get my hands on it. I watched many YouTube videos on the expansion before it came out and was excited to get my game. InTheNow was also.
The expansion was released, and I made some new Sims and started building their new home. InTheNow downloaded the game. Made his Sims in much less time than I did and started going to High School ASAP.
Once I was building my sims new home, I decided there needed to be a smaller High School. Sims took forever to walk, and mine were missing classes because everything was so far apart.

I told this to InTheNow and asked him if he would test it for me. He agreed and a few hours later sent me a photo of him and me as teens and our new Dad. I was thrilled!! Now I also had another house to build for us!
I finished the High School building and got the Okay from IntheNow that it was playable. This made me happy. It was time to grab the family he made of us and start playing!

An intervention had to happen. I was not going back to High School in those clothes. Not. Going. To. Happen.

Of course, I needed to build a new house for my new family! You can not play new sims in an old house!! It just isn't done in my Sims 4 world.
I had a blast making the new house and using all the new pretty bright items!! I ensured the house was big and small enough to play in comfortably. There were plenty of bathrooms and room for three Sims to move around and not get in anyone's way. The house made me very happy!!

Playing games that bring me into a place surrounded by bright, happy colors makes me happy. Sharing the fun of a game with friends is even better.
Gaming takes my mind far away into another world where dreams can come true, even if only for a little while....then dinner needs to be made because Hubby just walked in the door! OOOphs! 😹
Gaming can help give you the quiet and peace you need when you need it, as long as you do not get so addicted that you forget everything you need to get done in a day.
Gaming has been a lifesaver to me in more ways than one. Why I enjoy sharing my tales with you all.
If not for Hive, None of the above would have happened and my life would be less rich with out the friends and fun I have had along the way.
