I have been doing a lot of thinking. This can be good or bad. Because the year is ending, it makes our minds automatically take stock of how the year has gone for us. I am still not ready to discuss this, so I will not.
I want to share how I have been coping with this year. One of those ways is to play the Sims 4. Now, yes, it is just a silly game, yet this game can cause you to laugh and find joy in the most ridiculous things.

How so, you may be wondering? Well, I will tell you. You can take one of your best friends and turn them into a Sim. You can marry them to another Sim that you spent hours, and I mean hours, making the perfect Sim to be her Husband so they can live happily ever after.
Watch out Brisby!!
This same Husband can turn out to be a pill of a Sim. You can avoid liking him and make him do all the dirty jobs. Yet, when you look away, He has taken his wife to bed, and four trimesters later, you have a little baby boy Sim in your best friend's family. You think you can wait until the child grows up before you find ways to kill the pill of a hubby you saddled your best friend with.

Until once again, you turn your back because your real-life hubby comes home and is talking your ear off, so you do not have time to look at the screen once again. You guessed it, boy number two was on the way. You start shaking your head at your friend and tell her to keep her pants on! Having two toddlers in the Sims is hard work!!
But nowhere near as hard as four toddlers! So I aged two of them up so they could feed themselves. I again gave my Sim friend a lecture on having too many children. I told her she would have to do a lot of treadmill work!!

The best part was picking up my phone in the real world and leaving my wonderful friend @Brisby voice messages about her growing family. It makes for so many funny conversations throughout your day.

No matter how good or bad 2022 has been, we made it through because of the little things that made us laugh. Those little things brightened our days, so we knew everything would be alright. Those little bright spots scattered throughout the year were the times you took a deep breath and found the strength to make it another day.
Remember those little spaces of time when you think all is lost. Reach out to someone to talk to or start a new Sim 4 game and build a life for someone. Even in the Sims, their lives do not go as planned, and it's okay. It makes for a great story at the end of the day.
