My pigeon is back

^{The pigeon you see in this post, is one of my pet pigeons that has just returned to its nest after a few weeks of being out of sight. Around the beginning of February he and some of his family were still in the nest, but when there was a strong wind, as the nest was carried away by the wind, they had disappeared since then.}

That night, around 11 o'clock in the evening or early February to be precise, our area, specifically the coast, was hit by a strong wind that hit a small part of the coast, and in a very short time the wind came and hit the back of the house, while on the west side we provide one of the pigeon nests measuring 5 X 7 or an area of ​​​​about 35 square meters in the form of a miniature traditional house of our region.

The wind with a very strong force that came suddenly in a very short time had carried the dove's nest which was located beside the back house or located close to the planks near the roof.

The creaking sound surprised some residents, because the sound was rarely heard so far, indirectly we and our families went and scattered with other residents to see and confirm the unknown situation, it turned out that after examining some of the walls of the house made of boards and pigeon nests also disappeared, as well as the doves were also caught with the nest, that night it was not known where they had disappeared and the circumstances were certain that the pigeons and their nests had been destroyed.

Logically, I don't think it's a dove, the nest is just destroyed, let alone a group of animals that have weak postures. Surely they have been carried away by the wind (along with the nest) and it is certain that they are dead.

For several weeks, I myself had no knowledge of their whereabouts, and there was no news of their whereabouts. One thing surprised us, today, Saturday, maret 26, 2022, one of my pet pigeons was seen in front of another resident's house.

I, still memorized every stature and of course I didn't see it wrong, what I saw was my pet. But sadly, they came back with only one tail while dozens of others were nowhere to be seen, perhaps because of the incident only he survived while the others died.

Apparently he was hungry, it was known that he was busy looking for food, in a pile of coconut shells that had slightly dregs, and had been thrown away by residents in the garbage dump.

This my pigeon, was very lucky because he found the location of the food even though there was a little coconut pulp attached to the coconut shell. He is very active in looking for some leftover food which is located at the garbage disposal site. At least he found food for the day.

Every time a coconut shell is turned back and forth, he continues to peg at the remaining dregs, his behavior is still the same as before, he always pegs and rotates his feeding place when he is in the nest. He ate very voraciously, often finished his food, but unfortunately he was left alone.

When he saw him so greedy, of course he had experienced and received strange treatment, so it was as if he was very alert when in one location, even though it was quiet, there was no sound and other human activity beside or the position of his existence or his new location.

He, aware of my presence, even though it is about 3 meters away, but he still continues his activities, even though his eyes remain alert to a situation. I tried to approach him with a distance of 2 meters, but he moved to another location but still in the same point.

I saw that he had become a stranger to me, even though he kept trying to approach him, of course calling or making voices that had been called before. The dove turned but he still walked away, away from the location of the food.

When he heard a familiar voice, his body spun around, maybe he was doubting whether it was true or not, he seemed to recognize the sound of my exclamation. This is evidenced by the movement of footsteps that are not too hasty even though they are a bit far away, I finally managed to approach him within one meter.

Every now and then he walks away, walks the other way, and doesn't use his wings to fly, in general when a group of pigeons that have become wild, then they will fly not walk, except under certain conditions.

As I continued to call out to him in a voice he was used to hearing, or a voice he was familiar with, when his family was still with us, he became flustered and turned towards where I was standing. Seeing her state, I realized that all this time she had been wild and was living alone in the wild. It is sad that he separated from us in a few weeks but the changes in his character are visible, during this time he is often alone and far from the people who love him.

Finally he turned towards me, and it was certain he recognized me again, this moment made me touched to hear his sad voice as if he was saying I had parted with you. He turned to look expectantly that I would take him back to his nest or his former home.

Even though he was very close to me, but I myself did not dare to catch him to take home, I was afraid he was still wild and was afraid he would fly.

I gave him a chance, to ascertain the real situation, the plan was to capture him and bring him back to his original home, in a state of looking at each other I kept thinking I would make a strong and comfortable nest for their group, and at that moment, there was a very emotional moment, happy, sad, blend into one.
