Hey Hivers…
As I have been doing my research on what is the best online platform for me to share my content, and my journey has led me here on Hive. I am not a total newbie on this blockchain, so far I have only been using it for playing games such as Splinterlands or dCrops but never for publishing any of my content.
@anggreklestari from OCD has reached out to me on my first post and shared with me some tips on what to do as a newbie here on PeakD and this basically kickstarted my ‘PeakD longrun’. As Hive is far from all the rest of the well known social media platforms out there – there is a lot to learn ! I have to admit – it even took me a good few days to put this intro together.
I think that’s enough of the preface and let’s dive in:
So who is Speko?
I don’t really enjoy talking about myself so really briefly:
I love music, good weed, my girlfriend, our three dogs and car rides. What else would I add? … haha.. just kidding.
I am originally from Slovakia however, I have lived in Ireland for about the past 15 years.
I have finished my primary school back in Slovakia – my main focus was on football back then so I was in a ‘sports-class’. Then I went to middle school with focus on business. However, as there is not really much happening in Slovakia – or it wasn’t really when I lived there – I followed the steps of my father and I moved to the UK right after finishing my leaving cert. I have not lasted too long and so I bounced back off Slovakia but then I packed a few things and I have decided to move to my beloved Ireland.
I started working as a forklift driver for a private construction company that focused on building estate houses. That year working for this company was really good, amazing, however everything comes to an end and the global crisis in 2008 had put an end on my career here… as there was nobody to build for.
Un/fortunately I got a job at one of the biggest supermarket chains here in Ireland (not gona name them). I was looking at it as a potential opportunity to put my middle-school education into use and I was hoping to potentially grow my career within the company and develop myself professionally. However ! I soon got to understand that the practices of the shop I was working at are similar to the practices in the country I was coming from which is – you are only able to progress in the company if you know someone who knows someone or you are a brown-nose, otherwise you have no chance. At one point, I just had enough, I gave my notice and the same night I was gone.
I look at this point of my life as the ‘exploration period’. At first, I tried to start selling online (on Amazon haha) however, covid hit the world and China was closed or – it became very difficult to have stuff shipped and delivered from there.. To make the long story short – the idea of selling online was out.
I have to say it was my girlfriend who kind of opened the door for me into the world of crypto. I started with playing some NFT games, somehow I discovered and started playing Splinterlands. I have become fascinated by everything ‘crypto’, the whole concept of decentralization is genius.
I have signed up myself for a ‘Start your own business” course here in Ireland something over a year ago. Throughout the first year of the course, I have gone through various business ideas however, one of them stuck to my heart and that is “Drone Business”. All the things you can do with a drone … from creating photographs to 3D objects. So currently, I am working on creating my online presence/social media presence, my web-site, and I am trying to put together a meaningful business plan. My drone business should be running within the next 10 months.
As I am browsing through the content here on Hive, I have not found much quality content on Ireland. It will be my utmost pleasure to share the beauty of this stunning country and combine the three things I am fascinated in life and that is travelling, photography and crypto.
As I mentioned above, I am not keen on talking about myself too much so I will wrap up here and I will pop a handful of my photo-shoots below. All of the content I will be sharing here is 100% created by me and only me.
